I wish it was better,
This review is from: Being Me, Loving You: A Practical Guide to Extraordinary Relationships (Nonviolent Communication Guides) (Paperback)
I wish I agreed that this book deserves four stars - because that would mean that I was able to read through the book and attain some good information from it, which I was not. I am an avid reader with a college education, so my trouble is not illiteracy. It is the format of the book - a rolling description of what happened on stage at one of his seminars. It is written like a play with stage direction. The dialogue might have made sense if the author had left out unimportant fill like "um...am I supposed to be using empathy now or how I usually speak?" I could barely follow it, and after a handful of attempts found myself frustrated because I believe there is some good material somewhere in there! I will still give his other books a try IF they are written in a different format, but this is the first time I've truly regretted spending money on a book.

Less Stress,
This review is from: Being Me, Loving You: A Practical Guide to Extraordinary Relationships (Nonviolent Communication Guides) (Paperback)
I would recommend this book to anyone who is having a problem communicating. If you are a person who feels misunderstood or find that you say one thing and people hear another. If you want to make your relationships healthy and positive read this book for help. Since reading it my communication skills are so much better as I am able express myself in a positive clear manner.

High Expectations Not Met,

This review is from: Being Me, Loving You: A Practical Guide to Extraordinary Relationships (Nonviolent Communication Guides) (Paperback)
After constantly reading and re-reading Non Violent Communication and the workbook, finding tons of valuable information in it and being able to put it into practice, I don't feel this bookLET gave me anything new.
First I was unaware this was just a booklet and not a full book , until I got it. It may have declared that in the description but I didn't pay attention! Second, the format of using blurbs from various other participants, seminars and what not makes it very difficult to follow along. I had to stop and was not able to make it all the way through. I jsut had to reread the same passages two and three times just to understand them. That being said I am a college educated, well read individual therefore reading is not a challenge for me, but this booklet was. :-( I had very high expectations for this book after reading NonViolent Communication!

This book contains excerpts from transcripts of group sessions conducted by Marshall Rosenberg -- an excellent companion to the Non Violent Communication book with practical and honest questions from participants learning to use the techniques.

I read this book in a couple of hours. It has that quality to be a book that transforms and goes very deep into your soul. Few books have this capacity. Explores NVC in relationships and for sure reading it can heal many relations. Must read!!!!!!

This book, like others of Rosenberg is about respect, so don't let the title fool you. It has some valuable insights in understanding difficult people.
