Being Sovereign July 5, 2010
"Being Sovereign" is an historical, contemporaneous record of events, from the perspective of Jim Davidson, that should be important to any seeker of liberty. It is a compilation of a newsletter, "The Indomitus Report", that he began to write in May, 2004. (Full disclosure: Jim and I have known of each other for several years, although I never knew of "The Indomitus Report". We became online friends within the last year or so, and he sent me a copy of "Being Sovereign" to read and review, after I expressed an interest in doing so.) The book is, to me, most important for its perspective; in other words, how the hell did we get here in this handbasket, and why is it getting so damn hot?

The lessons of history, as chronicled here, can offer both hope and caution. Some things are getting better, but the enemies of freedom seem never to sleep, and we need to always be on guard both to protect any gains, and to prevent the inevitable losses from metastasizing. I believe that purpose is accomplished in "Being Sovereign".
