Being Wicked,
This review is from: Being Wicked (Paperback)
Not willing to believe what is being said about her brother Lily devises a plan to find out for herself what's going on in her brother's life. Stowing away in her brother's carriage as he leaves for the evening she finds herself at the Cyprian Ball, a ball unlike any she has ever known. There she loses her brother and encounter society's foremost womanizing rake Vincent St. Jerome.
Grace was on the opposite end of the spectrum from Lily. Grace was a widow who's husband took pleasure in watching her have sex with other men, but even with her experience, Grace was nervous about attending an affair such as this for the first time without her husband. When she encountered Winston, her brother's best friend since childhood, she's drawn to him and knows he's the dominant her submissive side craves. This is a hot and tantalizingly sexy story of two women exploring within themselves and reaching out for what they want. Lily and Grace were on different levels when it came to their sexual experiences but both women were willing to explore the yearnings inside them that some would deem very unlady like. I really enjoyed Grace and Winston's story because even though Grace was once married she never felt what Winston made her feel. I also love that he was the man she always wanted and it was as if her life was coming full circle. Being Wicked was packed with great characters that were very easy to care about and a storyline that was a lot of fun to read. Being Wicked was a great way to spend a couple of hours. two heated erotic romances,
This review is from: Being Wicked (Paperback)
"Willful Surrender". Her plan seemed simple when she hid in her brother's carriage to find him at a gala and prove his innocence. However, Lily never expected to end up at the Cyprian's Ball where she meets notorious rake Vincent, who wants her with a craving she shares.
"Willing Seduction". The Widow Grace returns to the house where her fondest sexual memories of her late husband occurred. At the Cyprian's Ball, she disguises herself as a courtesan hoping to taste some of what she lost when her spouse died. However, she never expected Winston, her brother's best friend to be there; Winston the star of her fantasies whom she plans to seduce into sexual nirvana this time. These two heated erotic romances star likable lead characters finding perfect sex partners at a Regency Cyprian Ball. Although, the two novellas lack a sense of time, fans who relish their romances equatorial hot will appreciate the lead couples BEING WICKED. Harriet Klausner

BEING WICKED is One Wicked Read!,
By Christine S. Morehouse "Romantic Crush Junkie... (Lake George, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Being Wicked (Paperback)
Kensington Aphrodisia released the erotic Regency romance BEING WICKED by author Lacy Danes in February 2009 with a deeply provocative prose, elicited affairs, bondage, voyeurism and finding your destiny once upon a Cyprian Ball. Danes has given her fans a decadently sensual read that every word melts off the pages and into readers' hearts.Hiding in her brother's carriage, Lady Lillian (Lilly) Cunnington never imagined she would find herself attending one of the most debauched Cyprian Balls in all of London. Lilly is shocked that none other than London's premier rake, Lord Vincent St. Jerome is traveling along with her beloved brother. Lily is on a mission. She is out to proved that her brother is not the wastrel and rake that the town people are claiming he is. With her goal she accidental comes in contact with Lady Grace Westland who offers her some extreme and prevalent advice. For one night Lilly will let go of the structures of propriety to feel the luxurious sensations at St. Jerome's hands. Lord Vincent has one night to revel in his rakedom. After that, St. Jerome is out to procure a wife and be a faithful husband, but tonight the innocent `Veronica' charms him into forgetting his good intentions and ignites a passion he has never found before. He will do as she ask and help her find `friend' all the while waking this raven haired beauty to the sensual delights that only he can satisfied. Widowed Lady Grace Westland has been away from the sins of pleasure from the moment her husband passed away two years before. Still a beauty and young enough to turn the heads in the room an ex-lover tempts her into indulging him and let him escort her to the scandalous Cyprian ball hosted by a very close friend. When she arrived to the ball memories of what her life once was invades her senses. Once at the becking call love slave of her husband, Grace will not let any one control her actions and feelings ever again. But as grace mingles, reacquainting her person with old friends and feeling the one man she never expected to see here was her childhood friend, Winston Greyton. Shocked to see his fantasy come to life standing before him doing elicit things with someone other than him spurs Greyton into action. It has been a long time since he has seen Grace but the sparks of attraction between them are about to set of a maelstrom of intense passion. He will show this beauty that he can love her like no other and make her admit and submit to her darkest desires. BEING WICKED is two stories in one. I really enjoyed the way this story was written. There are four main protagonists, Lady Lily and Vincent St. Jerome is told through Lilly's section but interweaves with Lady Grace and Greyton's story. I found this to be hypnotic. There is never a point where you are jerked from one heroine's drama to the next. Danes has uniquely given readers a bird's eye view into all four characters world simultaneously. The major element of BEING WICKED that was appealing was Danes creative perception of all the main characters. One did not out shine the other. Nor did any one character shadow them other. Danes writing was set to a rhythmic tempo that keeps readers entertained while following along this lusciously provocative novelette. Let us be honest, characters make the story and with out interesting and charismatic characters readers will close the cover which a reader will file the uninteresting novel under the pile of Never To Be Read Again (NTBRA). And we all know where our NTBRA books go...the library, which in the end we feel like we have made a contribution for the day. Well, BEING WICKED is a book that will never find your NTBA pile or the library. Danes gives readers a groups of saucy sassy characters that stretch our emotional strings by taking readers into a world that many know nothing about, but have read numerous times. Danes displays the rich and royal world of Regency England with all the decadent sins and vices that was at their finger tips. Danes spirits her readers off into this eclectic intoxicating adventure indulging readers' electrifying the need to participate in this extraordinary crafted story. Fiction is a wonderful genre. Where else can readers find themselves at a Cyprian ball looking for your brother and finding yourself in the arms of a devilish gorgeous rake waiting to make all your fantasies come true? Or be a Lady who finally allows her person to feel a true connection emotionally and sexually by the one man you have longed for all your life. Fiction allows a reader to enter a world, fight the good fight and take chances they otherwise would not. The same can be said about Lacy Danes' characters in BEING WICKED. A sheltered lady gives into her desires making a rakes heart desires come true. The theme of understanding and trusting in your self maybe generic and a theme used countless times. But you have heard the saying, "don't fix what isn't broke', so why change a good old classic theme when it is so prevalent in the here and now. BEING WICKED is a read that is perfect for the readers whom like that extra spiciness to their emotional charged and character driven books. Danes characters light up the page and leave a memorable impression with their titillating escapades and charmingly crafted dialogue for time to come.

United By Books ~ Review by Lindsey Hutchison,
This review is from: Being Wicked (Paperback)
My Thoughts: Two stories come together as two lives interconnect in one night that will help them find themselves and be friends for life. The people I speak of are Lady Grace Wentland and Lady Lillian. After being in a not so good marriage and now widowed, Grace is finally back out on the town, or how it was known then "ton", in 1828 England. An old friend convinces her to go to a party and she decides this would be the last Cyprian ball and a chance for one last encounter to salve her sexual delights. Upon arriving she sees Lillian fall from a carriage. Lilly, who wants to prove to the people that they are wrong about her brother, sneaks into the blanket compartment of the carriage and winds up the party. Young and innocent in the ways she is about to see, Grace takes her under her wing and explains she must open her mind. When they part, Grace runs into a friend of her brother's that she had grown up with and loved. They wind up partaking in the pleasure of sensual and erotic delights while Lily runs into her brother's traveling companion. To the party, he is St. Jerome, to others, he is known as one of the worst rakes about ton (though some would be surprised by him) and she finds herself attracted to him, letting him guide her in finding her brother and the lure of the night. I have been enjoying Historical Romances lately, but Lacy Danes takes it to the next level by making it Erotic as well. I loved how the stories kept connecting and the different points of views from each character. It was like nothing I have ever read before, but now desiring more. The sex was HOT and lurid, and so erotic you will find yourself panting and getting ideas. The characters draw you in and make you want more for them, not just sex wise, but for them each to find their passion, desires, and happiness. All in all, I enjoyed this book. I have a few more books of Lacy Danes and I cant wait to see what's in store
