A must have book for widows.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Being a Widow (Paperback)
When my husband died, a friend brought me this book. I felt the last thing I wanted was a book about widowhood. But, when I opened the cover and started reading, I knew I had found what I needed. Lynn Caine knows how it feels to lose a husband. She offers a practical and understanding approach to being a widow. I now pass this book on to other widows.

This review is from: Being a Widow (Paperback)
Wow, it is 2001, 15 years after my Mom left this world and here I sit with technology that did not exist when she was living. I thought for kicks that I would look up her name and her last book popped up. She finished it the day before she died! She was one of the most extraordinary humans I have ever met. I hope her words continue to help those in need - they helped me!Jon Caine, Son of Widow!!!

I bought this book along with Death of a Husband and I am so glad I did. I only wish I would of read her previous book called Widow. I still may buy it. So many of the things in this book have happened to me and I think it will help all those who aren't sure what to do next.

This was one of the first books I read when I was recently widowed. I found it extremely helpful. When I thought my feelings might mean I was going crazy I learned what I felt was (unfortunately) normal.

This was one of the first books I read when I starting working in this field. Somethings don't change over time. Losing a spouse is one of them.
This book on widowhood is a classic. I'm so glad to see that it's still available. Susan L. Fuller Author of How to Survive Your Grief When Someone You Love Has Died

This book was very eye-opening. It has practical advice from someone who has been there herself. It is a great second or first book to read after the need arises. Being a widow, I have read it afterr the first year passed, and it was soothing.
The addresses and sound advice of where to get help is sureful comforting as one generally does not know where to turn first. I recommend reading as many books as you can get your hands on as each addresses more than you would have imagined...

As a therapist and as a woman who was a widow at a young age (26), I found this book helpful for myself and my clients. It's been over 30 years since I first read it and I still refer people to it.
