It's no accident that this duo's 1996 outing on Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss's Almo Sounds label deserves your attention and appreciation. Guitarist Billy Burnette, son of Dorsey Burnette and nephew of Johnny Burnette, both early Country stars, got started in early childhood. While Lindsay Buckingham was on leave from Fleetwood Mac Billy was his replacement.
Bekka Bramlett, with considerable vocal range, is the daughter of Delaney and Bonnie and an experienced songwriter on her own. She also had a stint with Fleetwood Mac, appearing on their 1995 album TIME.
BEKKA AND BILLY is an enjoyable and energetic combination of country, rockabilly and pop. An excerpt of "The Fishing Hole" appears in "Old Hickory Lake."
Too bad this set didn't have much commercial success at the time of its release.

I was on my way to sleep nearly 3 weeks ago around 3am when I heard one of the most powerful voices and uplifting songs I HAVE EVER HEARD, without a doubt! This is a song that everyperson needs to listen to at any point in their life; it covers every aspect of human emotion. Please buy this CD if you may ever need a pick-me-up and you would like to listen to a heavenly voice with a match made in heaven accompaniment

I first heard Bekka on the Imus Ranch cd and liked her very much. I went on my computer to search for any cd's by her. The only thing I could find one.It was "Bekka & Billy". I purchased it and liked it very much. Would liked to know if she has any of her alone.

BEKKA POCESSES THE ABILITY TO MAKE YOU LAUGH,CRY, AND EVEN SHIVER! HER VOICE IS FILLED WITH THE KIND OF EMOTION OTHER SINGERS DON'T HAVE EVEN WHEN THEY RECEIVE GRAMMYS! WHEN SHE PERFORMS A BALLAD, THE HAIR ON YOUR ARMS STANDS UP. SHE IS TRUELY GIFTED AND A VERY SWEET WOMEN AS WELL. SHE ALSO HAS EXCELLENT TASTE IN JEWLERY. BUY ANYTHING SHE RECORDS, BECAUSE EVRYTHING SHE DOES ROCKS!!!!!
