New Europe Parmesan,
By
This review is from: Belgioioso Parmesan - 8 oz (Misc.)
Cook's Illustrated rates this domestic "parmesan" as follows:
Quote: Testers' Comments "Mild but complex," this cheese was a little "soft and creamy for a Parmesan," with a "too moist" texture. Grated, it had a "nice and tangy" aroma and "lovely, delicate flavor." In polenta, it was "nutty, well balanced, very good." Origin Domestic, aged at least 10 months ====== Best Buy ======== Belgioioso Parmesan A longer-aged domestic cheese that offered a lovely, delicate flavor for just half the price of our winner. Unquote. The winner of their testing (at twice the price) was: Boar's Head Parmigiano-Reggiano =============================== Imported from Italy, this cheese showed a very good balance of complementing flavors and textures.

A dud!,

This review is from: Belgioioso Parmesan - 8 oz (Misc.)
This product isn't parmesan cheese. It lacks the distinctive seal of this cheese which must conform to a severe set of rules. A European court has prohibited the use of the term parmesan for all cheeses not produced according to the parmesan consortium specifications.
