This review is from: Belfast Confidential (Hardcover)
Bought "Belfast Confidential" on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Northern Ireland. It's one of the series of books with Dan Starkey as the main character, and it didn't disappoint. Colin Bateman weaves a tale that is funny, suspenseful, and holds the reader's interest. Some of the Irish vernacular used in the book will not be familiar to most Americans, but it's not difficult to figure out. Caution to the squeamish - there is a fair amount of blood and violence in the book, but isn't that what you expect from a murder mystery?
Not many bookstores or libraries in the US carry Bateman's work, but it's not difficult to find online. |
