The book is an annotated translation of the book "I'tiqad Nama" by the famous Naqshbandi Shaykh Mawlana Khalid al-Baghdadi. This book contains the basic and core set of beliefs of Islam essential for every Muslim to read and know. The beliefs discussed are according to the Sunni creed, i.e. Ahl al-Sunnah. Pure Islamic and Arabic terminology is used and a glossary for the terms is provided at the end.

About the Author
Mawlana Khalid al-Baghdadi (1779-1827) was the great Naqshbandi sufi saint who started the Khalidi branch of this sufi order. Most of the Naqshbandi shaykhs today (outside India) belong to this sufi order. He was born in a Kurd area in northern Iraq. He traveled to Dehli to learn the spirituality and tariqah from the famous Shaykh Hadhrat Shah Abdullah Dahlavi, who was a great reformer and leader of the Mujaddidi tariqah at that time. In just nine months, Mawlana Khalid earned the status of a Khalifa and soon became the successor to his shaykh.
