This is a thoughtful work on the nature of beliefs, especially as they result to health and wellness. As a psychiatrist who works with very ill clients, I found the ideas presented to be helpful in structuring my clinical work. Those who gave the book poor reviews may have been looking for a self-help manual. This book is definitely worth reading, especially if you work with clients and need an intellectual model to approach changing their self-limiting beliefs. The writing is clear and accessible. I would highly recommend it.

Practical and enlightening,

This is a practical guide, using Neuro-Linguistic Programming for healing and for enhancing wellness. The techniques discussed provide a deeper appreciation of the role of symptoms as invitations to understand ourselves and to heal

If you were to list your beliefs right now, how many would you have? What would they say about you? I wonder.
I am a professional seminar author, producer and trainer in the field of Energetics, Emotional Core Patterning, NLP and Reiki. And this is one of my favorite books to use with the folks who come to these trainings. Dilts is one of the premier players in the field of Neuro Linguistic Programming and he has contributed, in my opinion, as much or more than any other NLPer in the fields of health and education. I first met him through Tony Robbins seminars as he was one of a handful of special Guest Speakers. I never had a session with Robert where I did not walk away with greater access to energy, vitality, vibrancy and passion for living. And the foundation of much of his work is at the level of your beliefs. This book is a great journey into meeting the beliefs that live in your head, in your mind, that are impacting the reality you create and live in every day. I know you will be surprised when you come face to face with some of the beliefs that are running your life. You may even find that you are meeting some of them, face to face, for the FIRST TIME and I say this is so whether you are 20 or 80 years old. Having access to identifying belief patterns in your life give you the ability to choose your beliefs with intention. It opens up what's possible for you in your life. I strongly recommend this book to everyone in the health field and anyone who is interested in being at the source of their own well being. If you are in a health crisis now, then this book can offer a way to begin to heal and I would invite you to use it as a part of your journey back to vibrancy and good health.

Beliefs,

This review is from: Beliefs: Pathways to Health & Well-Being (Paperback)
This is one of the first NLP books I've read. Bought it about a decade ago, but read it since 5 or 6 times.
It's one of Dilts' best works, in my opinion. I'm in sales, but the techniques and ideas in this book have helped me a lot. The exploration of beliefs is well explained, and the language is not too hard to understand. Yes, the book is a bit hard to read, but you know what - if you only read the easy stuff, as someone smarter than me said, you won't grow! You have to get through the hard stuff, sometimes, to get better and improve yourself. This is a highly recommended book for all self-help readers, not just therapists.

This book gets at the foundation of beliefs and explains systematiclly how beliefs can be changed. This book will be somewhat difficult for those not yet familiar with some of the concepts. Overall an excellent book.

This book is a combination of pure written narrative and the excerpts from classes/lectures that Robert Dilts held while he was alive. It's an older book but well worth the read if you're a student of NLP or simply interested in how to effect change. It's not the same as being there but it's close.

Hello
I have used nlp type systems for myself for years and understand and can apply them .This book gave me a new way of looking at , and a new use for these skills. I had never used them on allergies before, but read the book watched the vidio on you tube, practised the simple script for an afternoon and used it to cure my daughters allergies. Know that I have an understanding that it can be used on auto immunine system problems, I have many relatives and friends to work on. I highly recommend it, and also watching the vidio on you tube, simple to understand and apply. Do the work first by practacing the scripts and understanding what they do. Also be aware of the ecology questions to ask 1st. Do you want to be cured? Pay attention to their answer and the physical responses to gauge the answers.

A comprehensive beliefs treatment guide,
By
This review is from: Beliefs: Pathways to Health & Well-Being (Paperback)
How do our beliefs help us to change? How can we implement powerful beliefs? How can we improve our life? These are only the key questions that Mr Dilts suggest to focus on. We find many examples from real interventions. I suggest to acquire this book not only for who use nlp techniques as professionals. Very useful, but very powerful... This book just dosent make the reader excited and thus makes reading this book a chore. At this time all that has been said int this book has been said elsewhere in a much more interesting format.
