3.0 out of 5 stars standard songs, American ones, not Irish
They did a good job, but not well enough to warrant buying it (the previous ones are superior). I knew what to expect from other reviews, but got it anyway because of the cast.

Five SOARING Stars! The latest offering from Celtic Woman is enchanting, beautiful music that once again expands from its Celtic music base to include music from other genres (such as Bridge Over Troubled Waters and the inspirational You'll Never Walk Alone) that they easily bring under their distinctive umbrella of excellent interpretations. This latest edition of Celtic Woman features the marvelous angelic voices of Lisa Kelly, Chloë Agnew, the newest vocalist Lisa Lambe, along with Máiréad Nesbitt's marvelous fiddling. The highlights include the fiery vocal and orchestral drama of "Awakening" with all three singers. "The Foxhunter" has Nesbitt's high-energy fiddling stirring up a swirling jig. "The Water is Wide" is a true love song of equal cooperation featuring Kelly and Nesbitt. The lovely updated "Black is the Colour" gets a modern-day spin and Lisa Lambe is glorious amid strings and flutes. Chloe's "Ave Maria" is indeed heavenly and quite touching. And perhaps best of all, the "Songs From The Heart" duo, "Teir Abhaile Riu" and "The Parting Glass" with high-energy performances by all four ladies that virtually define what the Celtic Woman experience is about: beautiful music. Recorded in excellent sound. Kudos to David Downes. If you're new to Celtic Woman, as I am, it's a wonderful new experience that invites checking out their entire past musical worlds and members for our enjoyment. My Highest Recommendation. Five WONDERFUL Stars! (mp3 download of 15 tracks; Time: 64 minutes. Available on DVD Celtic Woman: Believe ) (Note: Dublin's own Susan McFadden joins the Celtic Woman tour in February 2012 while Lisa Kelly is on maternity leave.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite Peformances by Ireland's Princesses, February 15, 2012

I'm not a fan-atic as it were, but having experienced a live performance of "Believe" in Jacksonville, FL I've discovered that I was unable to resist getting this disc to relive it again and again. Hint - Chloe's performance of "Ave Marie" is just plain breathtaking in its beauty. And there's a lot of fun in this CD, too. All of the ladies as well as the chorus and musicians have brought something special to this effort with a presentation that simply spells c-l-a-s-s. It's not complicated ... if you enjoy good music then you should find a lot to appreciate with the "Believe" CD by a group of ladies whose public personae embody the definitions of charm, grace, professionalism and talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD yet, February 5, 2012

The music is very lively and at the same time very soothing. These women are so beautiful and I was very blessed to have the chance to see them live in concert on their 2012 Believe tour. I went to their first concert on their tour. These women are very talented and Lisa Lambe is a wonderful addition to the group. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these women; they are so talented.

Whether you are an existing fan of the Irish phenomenon known as Celtic Woman or now wish to become acquainted with them, you will love this, the CD containing the songs from the first of their DVDs recorded on American shores. Filmed at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA in Sept. 2011 and broadcast by the nation's PBS stations in December,2011, this CD includes all elements the world has come to love from this group: new arrangements of Celtic favourites from Emmy-nominated Musical Director David Downes, mixed in with some contemporary numbers such as Bridge Over Troubled Water, performed with the Atlanta Gwinnett Young Singers, bagpipes augmented by the Atlanta Pipe Band, a salute to Broadway and more, all from the delightful Celtic Woman soloists Chloe Agnew, Lisa Kelly, newest member Lisa Lambe and fiddling phenomenon Máiréad Nesbitt! You can't lose with this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lady of Green Cheer 'says", January 31, 2012
This review is from: Believe (Audio CD)
One of the most beautiful "Ava Maria" rendetions ever. The music, the voices, the pure enjoyment are all at the top of my list. Perfect pitch and perfect song selections. If you have other CD's by them you will really want this one too. If you have never bought music by Celtic Woman this is THE One to purchase.

Celtic Woman is my favorite group (although I'm not sure what that actually means when we've adjusted to so many permutations). If you are one of the reviewers who think this is the best that the group can deliver, well, enjoy and pay no attention to the derogatory remarks that I'll be making. My impression is: This is the weakest effort put forth so far. The CD contains almost nothing tremendously original or break-away from their standard fair. Listening to the album, my eyes kind of swell -- for the core CW gals and Lisa Lambe (the latest contractor for this year's money tour). I don't forget things easily, and I cannot bring myself to sing "Danny Boy" over the rose-covered graves of Meave, Orla, Lisa, Haley, and Alex. And I still do not buy the PR BS about the "departing" girls wanting to do "other things" or spending more of their time with family. Haley Westenra herself has produced two or three CDs since she was put out to pasture. Clearly, she didn't take her pink slip as a crushing blow. And I'm sure Lisa Lambe can see the writing on the wall -- if not now, a bit later. Celtic Woman's next CD (the one that will never be), if it had retained Lisa and Alex, could have been monumental, but why hope for things that will never be? I still think the ex-Celtic Woman members should form their own outfit and give CW a run for their money. "Believe" could be a throw-away if not for the shrewed thinking of the producers who put Lisa Lambe up front and center. This takes a lot of pressure off the existing core CW ladies(whom we always love to watch but without the introduction of new talent, everything gets a bit stale). "Believe" is divergent from the other works, but I don't mind that in itself. What I do miss is that unique mixture of Celtic themes with a tightly knit intermingling of orchestration, chorus and mind-pulsing Irish percussion. The next mash up should be more interesting as Lisa Kelly will be on another maternity leave -- forcing the induction of some other beautiful Irish voice. Anyway, in conclusion, "Believe" is barely recognizable as a CW production, but it has some good bits (and some overwrought and stale). Maybe the ongoing lack of cohesion and control will deliver something remarkable. One can always hope.

This album is just as great as their previous ones. However, there are a few songs missing from the album that were in the show. Still a wonderful album just wish all the songs were included.
