5.0 out of 5 stars very very cool, i must say, September 7, 2001
By "iandork107" (Orlando, Fl United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Believe (Audio CD)
I was at a local record store the other day when I heard the most pleasant keyboards with really cool industrial death metal. I was impressed at once, quickly asked who it was and ran home to pick up some cash to get the cd. The mix of gothic/industrial/techno keyboards and heavy guitar parts along with the sometimes growling, sometimes my dying bride-esque clean vocals, make a great listen. The best tracks are probably "Endless" and "Act Seven," but there aren't any that I dont like. Sadly though, this supposedly incense perfume CD smells no different than any other compact disc in my collection. But, I didn't buy it for the smell, I did for the music and I think you should do the same, it's well worth looking into.

4.0 out of 5 stars Greatly produced Goth-Metal, April 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Believe (Audio CD)
Well...When i heard this CD at the first time, i've noticed that with every album Crematory were moving to more of a Gothic side of Doom-Death metal (There was actually a time, when Creamatory were Death-metal). Wider usage of Clean vocals and keyboards(That remind me of new Dark Tranquility at times with it's neo-industrial effects) is apperent here. But melodies are still in a minor key (Unlike new In Flames or TiamaT). This is a great melodic Gothic-Metal album, fans of new Theatre Of Tragedy,Tiamat,Dark Tranquility will love.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good Goth-Death metal album, but its not fast metal, April 4, 2005
By sinisterfiend666 (the master of Horror) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Believe (Audio CD)
Its hard to group this band, but if I was going to I would say they mainly sound like Dark Tranquility, with some splashes of Paradise Lost, My dying bride, Mushroom head, and Faith no more. The main vocals are cookie monster, but very easy to understand the lyrics. The singer alternates voices and at times sounds more mainstream (hence my faith no more and mushroom head comparison) The music is dark, and at times has digital overlays. It's a very good album. Nice Goth cd to add to your collection. I did not give it the 5th star because there is just so many bands in this genre that have traveled this same road, but don't get me wrong, this is an awesome cd
