While Christian parents agree that helping children to understand who God is is of the utmost importance, many struggle to find the words to explain the gospel to them. With stirring watercolor illustrations from Melinda MacArthur, the author's daughter, I Believe in Jesus will hold the attention of little ones as well as communicate the most important message they will ever hear. Beginning at creation and moving through to eternity, MacArthur speaks directly to children in simple language by bringing theology (even tough subjects like the trinity) to a basic level. Pointed questions that ask, "Have you ever noticed how hard it is to always be good, kind, loving, and unselfish?" point out the child's need for a savior, while insightful answers give hope to young readers, saying, "Our sins should keep us out of heaven, but instead, God invites everyone--you too!--to come to Him and ask for forgiveness for our sins." A great book for guiding a young child to the wonder of God's magnificient plan. I enjoyed it and look forward to sharing it with my six year old granddaughter. Highly recommended!

This story simply and profoundly walks through the true gospel. Children are given the capacity to understand biblical concepts while also "keeping it simple" through the wonderful illustrations and word useage. FANTASTIC.

This beautiful little book is a great tool for a parent who wants to give a young child an understanding of who God is, why Jesus came to the world, and what one needs to do to receive Him into his or her heart. Small words are used, but the concepts seem to be straight on and orthodox, with each page ending with a Bible verse. Also, I must say that Pam Rossi's large and colorful illustrations add just the right touch to the book!

This book is a great gift for parents and their children. I sat down with my two little ones, and we went through it together. I really love this book, and so do they. I highly recommend this book to anyone with some children or grandchildren!
