Body Work - Morgan Page featuring Tegan and Sara

Biography

Morgan Page has certainly come a long way from his native Vermont. On his third full-length album for Nettwerk Records (due April 3, 2012), the Los Angeles-based artist strikes a brilliant balance between kinetic house music and blissful, radio-ready pop. Touting club anthems with the right dose of indie and pop flourishes, Page creates a danceable, diverse, and deep collection of ... Read more in Amazon's Morgan Page Store

Nowadays, I buy and listen to all things Morgan Page.

I find myself playing his music on my Kindle Fire while at work, in the tanning bed at the tanning studio, and while I'm exercising or studying.
Lee
It has a very nice selection of Vocalists and they fit nicely into each composition.

The first time I saw Morgan Page, he was the opening act for Delerium at the B.B. King theater on 42nd Street in New York City. Delerium was downright weird, with Kristy Thirsk prancing and high-stepping all over the stage, and Bill Leeb strangely sober, content with his keyboards. Morgan put on a show with nothing more than a laptop and a mixer, eliciting a good coordinated head-bob out of the dreamtronica crowd. We talked for a bit in the gift shop after the show, and I was surprised at how friendly and outgoing he was.

Nowadays, I buy and listen to all things Morgan Page. This album is a good sampler if you're not familiar with him, but you need to get with the program. You need to get over to [...] and start downloading all the dance remixes. The Beltek remix of "Fight For You" is hot--one of the top progressive house tunes of the year--and I like both the Inpetto and DJ DLG remixes of "Strange Condition."

The great thing about Morgan is that, like BT (yes, in the same breath as BT), he is the perfect combination of programmer and songwriter. Saw the Academy awards recently, and somebody commented that (one of the Pixar folks, I believe), with all the technology available to filmmakers, it is still all about developing characters, plot, and story. Here, with all the technology available to Morgan, it is still about great hooks, great melodies, and great beats. It is Morgan making music, not the darn computer. There a million nerds out there with their Ableton and Pro Tools and all of them are inferior to someone who can write a great song.

Morgan also has a lively Facebook group, which I recommend. Recently, he complained about warm-up DJs banging out big bangers. Here is one warm-up DJ who would be happy to lay down some deep grooves for Morgan and the early crowd.

I'd never heard of Morgan Page before, but checked it out for song #7, Only Human, that Natalie Walker sings on. All the previews sounded good (that doesn't happen often), so I bought the whole album. My favorite songs on here are 11 and 12 (I've Had Friends, In The Dark).

Talk about a Rennaissance man. He writes, plays, produces, and yet I'd not heard of him till recently. Feel some of the blood flowing by osmosis. And handsome, a man's man. He could chop down a forest, and kick my ass for desert. The thing is his genius, an overly used word I know, but this dude has Got IT!

Every track is great. And has Samantha James on a track and Lizzy on a few. You can never go wrong with a Morgan Page record! I love this man!

Another thoroughly great album to put into your collection of Morgan Page. Once again, if you are sick of all of the typical trance and house anthems that have no dynamics or lyrics, Morgan Page's albums oppose this status quo. His lyrics and choice of beats and melodies ebbs and flows together to create a complete and thorough collection of amazing songs that move your senses and that you can also sing along with as well. Although it isn't my favorite of his collection, it still has been playing in my car on repeat for the last several weeks. I can't seem to force myself to simply take it out of the player! The first three songs are to die for, especially Believe, and the rest follow in their respective natural order of greatness.
