The first time I saw Morgan Page, he was the opening act for Delerium at the B.B. King theater on 42nd Street in New York City. Delerium was downright weird, with Kristy Thirsk prancing and high-stepping all over the stage, and Bill Leeb strangely sober, content with his keyboards. Morgan put on a show with nothing more than a laptop and a mixer, eliciting a good coordinated head-bob out of the dreamtronica crowd. We talked for a bit in the gift shop after the show, and I was surprised at how friendly and outgoing he was.
Nowadays, I buy and listen to all things Morgan Page. This album is a good sampler if you're not familiar with him, but you need to get with the program. You need to get over to [...] and start downloading all the dance remixes. The Beltek remix of "Fight For You" is hot--one of the top progressive house tunes of the year--and I like both the Inpetto and DJ DLG remixes of "Strange Condition." The great thing about Morgan is that, like BT (yes, in the same breath as BT), he is the perfect combination of programmer and songwriter. Saw the Academy awards recently, and somebody commented that (one of the Pixar folks, I believe), with all the technology available to filmmakers, it is still all about developing characters, plot, and story. Here, with all the technology available to Morgan, it is still about great hooks, great melodies, and great beats. It is Morgan making music, not the darn computer. There a million nerds out there with their Ableton and Pro Tools and all of them are inferior to someone who can write a great song. Morgan also has a lively Facebook group, which I recommend. Recently, he complained about warm-up DJs banging out big bangers. Here is one warm-up DJ who would be happy to lay down some deep grooves for Morgan and the early crowd.

I'd never heard of Morgan Page before, but checked it out for song #7, Only Human, that Natalie Walker sings on. All the previews sounded good (that doesn't happen often), so I bought the whole album. My favorite songs on here are 11 and 12 (I've Had Friends, In The Dark).

This CD is a great listen! It was variety and the beats are all very much in line with the rest of the CD. This music is a bit different than the others in this Genre. It has a very nice selection of Vocalists and they fit nicely into each composition. Morgan is definitely a perfectionist and his is going to go a long way! I wasn't disappointed with this purchase. I also purchased Elevate which is a great CD as well.

After hearing "Fight For You" over the radio and doing a little more investigation, I have happily stumbled across this motherlode of goodness. Morgan Page puts so much soul into every song, and the guest vocals are spectacular. There's a kind of energy in his work that isn't commonly found. From the dark and mysterious "Traces Remain" and "In the Dark" to the more upbeat "I've Had Friends" and "Fight For You", every song is quality material.
