1.0 out of 5 stars Plaguerism at its worst
Kenneth Hagin says its a problem that weve preached a cross religion and not a throne religion. He goes so far as to call the cross a place of defeat. How far this is from Jesus' teachings, unless we take up our cross and follw Him we are not worthy of Him, thats all Jesus preached was the cross, it was central to his teachings and His life, as well as the apostle Paul...

The Believer's Authority will change the way the believer appraches prayer, life and God.

"The trouble is that we've preached a "cross" religion and we need to preach a "throne" religion"." (Page 16) There is power after redemption - a life worthy of our inheritance from the king and access to the throne of God for all who would believe.

Through an insightful examination of Ephesians, the believer comes into understanding of his "inheritance" from God and authority, through Christ, over a defeated enemy; his attacks, weapons, and strategies. Through access to the throne, the Christian believer has an inheritance in this world and the next, from the treasury of Christ Jesus. An inheritance of peace, joy, strength, health, power, provision, love and much more. Hagin encourages the believer to "enter in" and receive all the fullness of God.

There is power in the tongue - even life and death. And the spoken word from the mouth of the Christian is powerful and pursuasive. Power to bless, to heal, and to overcome the evil one in the name of Jesus.

Throughout this interesting and powerful book, I was reminded of the teachings of Smith Wigglesworth and felt agreement in my sprit, as well. Thank God for this timely book and the teachings of brother Hagin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anointed Revelation, November 5, 2003
This review is from: The Believer's Authority (Paperback)
The author explains that not only do we as Christians have authority, most of us do not know about it or even how to use it. Once we are aware of this authority, we will be able to do the work God has called us to do.

This is book consists of only 70 pages but each page is packed with power and scripture.

Superb Biblical teaching in this book. For any Christian struggling with freedom from strongholds, I highly recommend this book or the CDs. After listening to the CDs, my life has forever changed. Hagin's teachings led me to understand that I am already free Luke 10:19, Colossians 1:13. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I thank the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Luke 10:19-20
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Colossians 1:13
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth Still Makes You Free!, April 12, 2006
This review is from: The Believer's Authority (Paperback)
In my opinion, 5 stars go to the simple and powerful message of the book, "The Believers Authority".
And no... Neither Kenneth Hagin, nor Rev. MacMillan was original with that message... Don't tell anybody, but it was borrowed from the Bible.
I have been in ministry for 30+ years and met more men and women of God who credit this book for a major and positive change in their lives --- more than any other book (other than the Bible).
Whether you are Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal --- or 'Bapticostal' --- it's good to know how to stand strong and take your authority in Christ. God has used this little publication in a marvelous way to teach believers how to run the devil off God's property. It's therefore not difficult to know the source of some of the attacks on the book and its author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do you know who you are in Christ?, April 11, 2007
This review is from: The Believer's Authority (Paperback)
This book is the 1984 revised edition of the book that was originally written in 1967. In the Preface, Kenneth Hagin Jr. wrote that "Dad has gained even more light on the subject of spiritual authority. He often said he wished this book could contain these insight." Hence, this is the expanded version which I think is a great book from the Word of Faith movement. I believe that what begin as the Word of Faith movement has gained maturity and balance. In fact, Hagin writes, "It's easy to get into the ditch on either side of the road - the excess, wild fire, and fanaticism. Let's go down the middle of the road and maintain balance." (pg. 18)

I recommend this book to you, and just as I have been blessed, so will you. As Hagin wrote about the spiritual authority of the believer, I would like to add in his quotation of James 4:17 the first part which was not quoted, i.e. Submit to God. Hagin quotes, "resist the devil, and he will flee from you." I believe that spiritual authority comes from a heart submitted to God and living a life of obedience to Him. Also, a man with authority is a man under authority. In the reading of the book, you can imply these truths from what was written.

I have thoroughly enjoyed re-reading this book after many years, and have found it refreshing and ministering. The following are the chapter titles of the book.

1. The Prayers of Paul
2. What Is Authority?
3. Seated With Christ
4. Breaking the Power of the Devil
5. Exercising Authority
6. Risen With Christ
7. The Weapons of OUr Warfare
8. Authority Over Demon Spirits, Not Human Wills

5.0 out of 5 stars A life changing book!, March 20, 2000

This review is from: The Believer's Authority (Paperback)
If you're reading this out of curiosity concerning "The Believer's Authority" or Brother Hagin's ministry, let me recommend both of them to you. As a young pastor, this book, as well as the ministry of Brother Hagin has greatly impacted my life and ministry. In a very simple, easy to follow manner, Brother Hagin explains what authority is and how a Christian can live above the mess that the world and the devil has to offer. I recommend it highly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stolen (?) but true nevertheless., January 8, 2005
By
A. G. L. Wolthuis (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Believer's Authority (Paperback)
This book The Believer's Authority is a simple but very precise exposé of New Testament teaching on the authority of the believer. Yes, let every Christian be hesitant to critique this teaching since Jesus not only gave us His authority, but sacrificed his very life for it. We are now able to live victoriously just as we see the believers in Acts do and we have the unlimited resources to carry the Gospel to every corner of this planet. Critisism is easy but when one has to fight in the frontlines of Kingdom expansion (I live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands) such helpful teaching is received with gratitude despite some of less clear passages that may reveal Hagin's more human side (although some serious allegations have been succesfully defeated in The True Story by McIntyre). If our church members would do only have as well in communicating Bible truth, I would applaude them and gladly provide a teaching role.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every One Who Is A Believer Needs to get this book!!, March 18, 2007

GLORYGIRL (Paradise, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Believer's Authority (Paperback)
In order to stand your ground against the spirits of darkness (demons) one must know who they are in Christ, and that as a Believer you have the spiritual weapontry to do so. But if you do not know this, then you will be a defeated foe.
This book set me free way back in 1985 when a Pastor told me about it. I got it read it and started taking back what the devil had stolen from me.
This a must for all Christians to have in their Faith Library. Hagin is down to earth in his teachings of the authority of the believer, and he tells it like it is.
