Belinda Carlisle is a sort of artist that two songs are enough at the time. She has her moments, no doubt about that, and her finest songs are up there among the best at the period of time. Belindas voice is a great voice, and also her strongest "tool", but her voice is also what creates a certain stress factor, because it get's so intense. When you listen to this collection you long for some quiet moments where she could ease things down a bit. Instead she rolls with her intense voice in song after song.
If you take out her finest moments..."heaven is a place on eart..circle in the sand etc",you will nod your head and think of Belinda Carlisle in a magic moment. The lack of variations in her songs comes real clear in a collection like this. There are some magic moments here, but also moments to forget. |
