4.0 out of 5 stars Solid protective case
This case fits the device very well, and protects every part of it, including the screen and the controls on the front. The only complaint I have about it is that the plastic that covers the controls makes them much harder to press down than without it, which can definitely be kind of annoying. Other than that, not a bad item at all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great protection, some flaws
This case provides excellent protection. The sturdy acrylic is thick and rigid. The brushed metal-trimmed front comes off only with significant force, leaving a box that fits the Zune so snugly to takes significant work to remove the Zune after it is pressed into it. It is obvious the case is made to close tolerances, and is, overall, a quality product...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great protection, some flaws, January 1, 2007
This review is from: Belkin Acrylic Case for Zune 30 GB (Clear) (Electronics)
This case provides excellent protection. The sturdy acrylic is thick and rigid. The brushed metal-trimmed front comes off only with significant force, leaving a box that fits the Zune so snugly to takes significant work to remove the Zune after it is pressed into it. It is obvious the case is made to close tolerances, and is, overall, a quality product.

That said, I do have some complaints.

First, as said in previous reviews, it makes the pause/play and back buttons very ditticult to press. The countersunk opening for the buttons barely allows a fingertip to touch them... You must press with a good amount of force to make them work. It makes navigating through the Zune's menus tedious work, and makes it hard to pause your music or video when and where you wish to.

Second, I'm not sure if this is common, but my belt clip arrangement seems very untrustworthy. The belt clip is completely removable, held in place by a clip that engages the hole for the hold switch at the top, and the opening for the docking connector at the bottom. Removing the clip leaves the case completely smooth and very pocketable. Unfortunately, there is very little overlap where it snaps on, and it comes off too easily. I would never carry my Zune on my belt, for fear of banging it into something anyway. But this clip arrangement would make me fearful of even trying. The belt clip does, however, make an excellent tilt stand for viewing videos.

Third, it is very difficult to remove the Zune from this case. That would not be a problem, but as other reviewers noted, certain accessories will not engage with the docking connector with the case in place.

If you only use the Zune on it's own, and want the ultimate in protection, this case is a good choice, despite the button-pushing issue. If you plan to go from pocket to dock to the matching transmitter, consider a different solution.

3.0 out of 5 stars Consider Another Case, December 10, 2006
This review is from: Belkin Acrylic Case for Zune 30 GB (Clear) (Electronics)
I really like the looks and durability of this case. I have one major complaint, however. I use my Zune in the car with the FM transmitter that came with the travel kit from Microsoft. With this case, the FM transmitter cannot be used as it will not plug in all the way. The idea of getting a case, for me, is to protect my Zune. I don't see the point of taking the unit out of the case each time I get in the car. Also, the unit fits so tightly in the case that it is more than a bit of a hassle to take it out and put it back in all the time. I like most everything else about this design, other than that the port on the bottom does not work for the Microsoft FM Transmitter. Ultimately I am going to find a different case.

3.0 out of 5 stars An Okay Case, December 26, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Belkin Acrylic Case for Zune 30 GB (Clear) (Electronics)
Overall I think this is an okay case with some notable positives and negatives. On the positive side it completly envelopes the zune with the exception of the docking port and earphone jack. There is even a thin layer of flexible plastic over the buttons and d-pad. The belt clip rotates by 90 degrees allowing you to wear the Zune in a horizontal or vertical orientation.

On the negative side the presence of the case makes the buttons more difficult to operate and does add some bulk to the unit.

I'm on the fence about how the case opens. The front metalic part of the case can be pulled off with a decent amount of force. This could be bad in that it makes the case more difficult to open, or positive because I am sure that the case isn't going to pop open even with a fair amount of jolting.

Well after I purchased my zune, like others who posted before me, I wanted some protection for it so I just went to wal-mart and bought the only hard case they had at the time. Well one day I went to school with it in my pocket and I dropped my keys in the same pocket after a while. So I took the zune out and whoa, was I pissed because it was kind of difficult to see the screen with all the scratches on it. Also, the button covers made weird smudgy marks on my zune keys which upset me. Additionally when I removed the zune to get some of the little particles of dust and stuff out of the case, the zune sort of scratched the casing, which isn't too bad, but doesn't really look good. A few good things about it though, it shows the Zune color and protects the screen and the zune from scratches and damage. Anyway, I've dealt with it until today because I've bought a new case. It is worth buying if you are buying it for under $20, but other than that, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it for $30 like I did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but doesn't fare well with the Car Pack, March 31, 2007

I think that this case is a must to have, seeing as it's too easy to scratch things these days. My case has worked great, but the only problem that I have is that I can't use the case with the Car Pack. I can charge it in my car with the case, but I can't listen to the Zune's music while it's in the case. That can be a little frustrating...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tough but pricey., December 5, 2007
This review is from: Belkin Acrylic Case for Zune 30 GB (Clear) (Electronics)
Tough case with a nice fit but adds significant bulk to the player. I purchased this case for my son but decided to get the silicone skin ones for myself. The soft cases are really nice fitting with a good feel and adds protection without being bulky (also making it easier to get to all the controls). Best of all, the silicone cases are less than 1/2 the price of these.

This case is an excellent product. I bought it after my first Zune was destroyed by my dog who was not even slowed down by the leather case when I left the Zune on an end table for a moment. I am very happy with the purchase. The Zune is protected from any sort of damage almost entirely, with the exception of the headphone port, power switch, and docking port. My particular favorite feature is the thin film of plastic over the buttons, which protects the Zune in case your hands are not entirely clean for some reason. There are only two minor flaws with the case. First, the belt clip is terrible unreliable. It pops off the case very easily and could result in a very expensive accident. I leave it off. Secondly, the finish gets dinged over time and the case looks much less attractive. The Zune underneath is perfectly unharmed, so I suppose the case has done its job, but I like my products to look slick and professional.

A very solid and smart purchase, especially at the price point.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not even okay; horrible, September 2, 2007
This review is from: Belkin Acrylic Case for Zune 30 GB (Clear) (Electronics)
I don't like this case- it's not really needed for the Zune. You don't need a case; the Zune is so thick it will never scratch.
If you buy the Belkin TunePower it won't be possible for you to charge it with it inside the TunePower; I was never told this. You can plug it on the Belkin TunePower but you can't place it inside the TunePower.
Another major problem is that you can't take your Zune out when you put it in! It's almost IMPOSSIBLE too! Maybe you can but if you have long fingers and short nails like I do, it's just not possible. Definitely annoying.

If you plan to buy other accessories for your Zune: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY and BUY THIS!!! Otherwise, feel free to buy.
