excellent product,
This review is from: Belkin Armband Case for iPod nano 1G, 2G (Black) (Electronics)
This case fits the nano perfectly and has openings for all the ports and switches. It's easy to slip on and adds very little bulk. The silicon is quite smooth and not as tacky as others. It's easy to slip into a pocket yet still resists sliding on a smooth surface.
It isn't mentioned in the ad but it does come with a screen protector. It's tucked away in the packaging and would be easy to discard, as I almost did. It too is very good quality, it was easy to install and lays flat without any bubbles. I put it on crooked initially, but it was easy to remove and put it on correctly. There aren't any real instructions but it has tabs that are clearly labeled and they should keep it from being installed inside out. Bottom line: The quality and design of this case complements the quality and design of the Nano very well.

This is just a plain barebones case. It has a silicone casing that goes around the ipod, and then the strap goes through the back of it (note there isn't really an attachment to put the strap through, it's cut outs in the case itself, so the strap is touching the back of the ipod). You can also just use the case without the strap.
It seems to work pretty well, the strap fits well and doesn't bind up or seem to tight, so it has the right amount of strechiness in it. The one thing that seems to be lacking, is the silicone case does not have anything that protects the screen or click wheel. This is fine for me, but those wanting to use it as a standalone case and throw it in their bag/purse might want to look at something else. It's an all around simple case and strap that seem well built, it also happens to be under half the price of any other cases out there. (Nike + iPod users:) The whole bottom is open, including the headphone jack and dock connector. This means the Nike + iPod kit fits right in. Update: Apparently according to other reviews it actually comes with a screen protector, however I must have thrown it away with the packaging, so watch out for that.

This thing simply does what it's supposed to do and what it claims to do (which, alas, is so much more than can be said for so many gadget add-ons). Perfect fit on the Nano, as others have pointed out, they even include the little screen protector strip which adds protection where it really counts. Buttons and ports are easily accessible, the strap is comfy to wear and easy to get on.
And best of all, of course, the price is exactly right. Apple really should just include something like this with the Nano to begin with -- but at least Belkin's offering is of a design and quality to match what it's made to enclose.

This thing was slipping and sliding all over the place and I constantly had to readjust in so the functions were in place. The slot on the top that is supposed to allow you to use the "hold" feature is completely off so you end up having to stretch the thing over to turn it on and off. The little plastic protector that covers the screen would not stay in place over the screen and I was constantly losing it between the silicon cover and the ipod. I finally just gave up on it and returned it. I bought it because it is one of the only ipod accessories that has a fair price tag. I think I'll just get it over with and buy one of the more expensive options. Was this thing even meant for the Gen 2 nano?

Its a nice sleeve for nano, fits snugly and looks better than a lot of sleeves in the market. The strap is useful when working out and you can remove the strap when you want to take it in your pocket. The screen cover is a bit tough to put on without getting the bubbles on the screen, but if you try hard you should get it on nicely. I recommend this product.

I've owned this band for about a year. The nice thing about it is that it allows you to adjust volume and select songs while you are running. The problem I have with it now is that after washing the band a few times, it is less elastic, so that when I jog and I'm sweating, I can no longer tighten the band enough to keep the ipod from slipping down my arm. So, if you want a band to use while doing sports, I'd suggest you look for one that has a wider band with more elasticity.

This is slim, snug and good looking protection for the Nano. I'm using with the new 2G Nano 8gb and it's much better than I expected. The tight little silicon rubber protector's staying on all the time -- it still leaves the nano mighty small, hardly any bigger in fact. This way if I drop it on a cement floor I've got a good chance of it's being unscathed. (Still not something to make a habbit of of course.) Of course my chosen Nano is black anyway -- if you want to show off blue or pink there might not be much of those colors showing through this sheath.
The arm band also works perfectly. I'm a 6'3 male with good size arms and it fits me perfectly It seems like it will adjust WAY smaller and a little bigger, which ought to accomodate the great majority. As for bubbles appearing for some people under the optional stick on screen protector - just press down on the center first and work your finger pressure out to the edges. It's not hard guys, and it's what you need to do with all screen stick-ons. In other words that problem is "operator error", and easily avoidable with a modicum of operator knowledge.

I recently purchased a Nano, and like everyone else, it was getting scratched up too quickly. This case provides a screen protector and access to all inputs/buttons and only increases the thickness of the nano by a little bit. Simple and easy to use.

This sleeve is designed for 1st generation nanos...the 2G's sort of fit in it, but not very well. If you have a 2G, this is not a very good choice.

A decent value for the money, but not for small arms or active runners,

I have been using this for two months now on runs with the Nike+ system, running about 60 minutes at a time, 5 times per week. The armband and rubber case work fine, although there are some minor problems, especially if you use this for running.
You can remove the strap so that you have just a nice protective cover for throwing the Nano in your bag, pocket, purse, whatever. The protective screen cover is just a flimsy little stick-on piece of square plastic. But it seems to work. Be sure you don't accidentally throw it away with the packaging, as others here have noted. You don't need to remove the Nano to attach the docking/syncing cable, Nike+ receiver, or anything else. There are openings at the bottom and top for access to the appropriate ports/controls on the Nano. The hold button is difficult to work through the small opening, though. I usually have to take the Nano out of the case to work the hold button. Some possible problems: - The adjustable strap is large. I have an average male build (5 ft. 11 in., 170 lbs.), and I have to tighten the strap almost to the tightest setting to keep it from slipping. I can easily imagine smaller persons (women, especially) having trouble with this. - For running, because the strap is not very wide, the Nano tends to slip/move around on your arm a bit, especially if you do any kind of trail running. You can tighten the strap to prevent this, but then it will cut off the blood flow in your arm. - There's no place to wrap or store any of the excess headphone cord. I wrap it around the strap, behind the Nano itself, where the strap goes through the casing. But because the strap is thin, wrapping the headphone cable like this can easily cause the strap itself to bunch up, and either cut off blood flow or allow slipping. Bottom line: a good value for the money (about $11 when I bought it), especially compared with Nike's offering at $29, however for runners or others who will have active arm movements while working out, you'll probably end up needing something more comfortable and secure. For persons with smaller arms (smaller than the average male build), it may not be possible to tighten the strap enough. |
