Well like many of you out there I got a HDTV for Christmas. Then along came the Upconverting DVD player, HD DVR, and the PS3! Most HDTV's only have 1 HDMI input. How was I going to make use of all this new amazing picture quality when I can only connect 1 HDMI input at a time. So to Google I went. I came across quite a few HDMI switches. Some really expensive but I did not recognized the brands. Then I saw the PureAV by Belkin (being a Mac & iPod user I definitely recognized Belkin). So I bought it... I mean I had too what else do you do? It has 3 connection in and one out to the TV. Works exactly like it should. Has a remote and everything. Solid really small unit. Lay to packs of cards side by side and you have the size of this unit. But I am extremely happy with the unit. (Oh by the way it comes with 1 HDMI cable and as we all know those little suckers can be EXPENSIVE! All my other ones at the Philips 6ft HDMI cables from Walmart for $32.)

It is very small, extremely well made, and works perfectly. The Belkin Pure HDMI cables are also another great value. No signal degradation noted with this switchbox - seems completely transparent. I would buy another one.

I had purchased THREE other HDMI switchers prior to this Belkin unit. EACH switcher had a problem interfacing my equipment (Mitsubishi 65" DLP HD TV, Panasonic Blue Ray and RCA HD Player). A variety of various issues - one would not support either piece of equipment and would flash a blue screen, one would only work with the RCA HD unit and not support the Panasonic unit and the third would not support the RCA HD player and only support the Panasonic Blue Ray player. (following the bouncing ball here?) Needless to say, I was becoming very frustrated! After reading the reviews of this Belkin unit, it appears that they use a special circuitry or chip? that assists with the latest technology and (sometimes) challenging interfaces. Well, I am happy to report that this unit is the first of 4 that works PERFECTLY with my equipment. NO ISSUES and I am happy! Its compact and seems to be well built. My only issue is with Amazon itself....I ordered the unit with "SUPER SAVER" shipping which was supposed to be FREE shipping - but I got charged a bit over $6.00 anyway - but no real big deal as was delevered 5 days before they indicated it would arrive.

I only have one HDMI input on the plasma so went with this switch box. I have our HD Satellite DVR and HD-DVD player hooked up to it. There is no difference in quality vs. direct connection. Batteries are included for the remote. The unit comes with one HDMI cable and also has a button to toggle between the three inputs. It has anchors too if you want to mount the unit on a wall. Neat purchase.

After getting into the HDTV revolution and then finding out how many items I wanted that require an HDMI connection a solution was needed. With an HD cable box, a new PS3, and only one HDMI connection with my HDTV I needed more HDMI options. This product gave me those options. With 3 HDMI inputs I now have all the connections I needed and one extra. This product is compact, and very easy to install. It includes an HDMI cable and that saves you the cost of another one. The shipping was incrediblely fast, less than 2 business days! Many other products like this cost a great deal more. Buy this product, you'll love it.

This box is exactly what I needed to connect my PS3, upconverting DVD payer and HD cable box to my TV. I briefly considered buying a new receiver with HDMI switching built in, but I don't need to pay five hundred clams when this box does the trick at 1/5 the cost.

Signal is clear and clean, and the box is running full 1080p streams using 3 different generic (read twenty shekels or less) HDMI cables for input, and my foolishly purchased (mega expensive) Monster HDMI cable as output to the TV.

The best part is that it works great with my Logitech Harmony 880 Universal Remote ...
Logitech has a device code for this so you can program an Activity like watch HD DVR and it will toggle to the right source output ....

Works right out of the box. Flawless switching.

1) Reasonably small size and good looking
2) About the right number of ports for most usage
3) Has manual port selection switch
4) Has indicator lights
5) Comes with an HDMI cable
6) Reasonable price

Update: When I bought this device, it was $81.94 (in June 2007). Now the price is not reasonable anymore ($189.99 in May 2008).

Con:
1) No power on/off switch. You can power it on/off thru one of your components like the receiver. In my case however, I have to leave it on all the time.
1) Needs external power adapter (provided). Some other switches use power available on the HDMI input.

Bottom line, it's still the best value for your money.

I've had this product for a couple of months now and it is exactly what I wanted. I have an Xbox 360, PS3, and Digital Cable Box all hooked up to it and they now only take up one hdmi input in my TV, which is good beacause it's the only one. The picture quality is great, and the switch changes inputs in just a couple of seconds with the remote. The only minor glitch I've encountered is that when you change input using the button on the box it will jump back to number 1, not a big deal though because I use the remote 99% of the time anyway. Great Product, I highly recommend it.

My DLP TV only has one HDMI input and I needed 3. I use it to switch a HD satellite box, an upconverting DVD player and an XBOX360 Elite. This product works great. It works wonderfully with my Logitech Harmony 880 remote too! This was actually the default switcher in the logitech software.

Highly recommended if you only need 3 inputs.
