5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Cheap Bluetooth Adapter
I don't have much to say about this bluetooth USB adapter.

I plugged it straight into my laptop and Windows Vista automatically installed the drivers and it was recognized within a minute.

I bought it so that I can use my BlueAnt Z9i headset while talking on Skype, and it works very well. The blue light is a bit bright when it blinks, but I just...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not good with wifi
I bought this in order to use with a Bluetooth headset in order to make Skype calls. But whenever it's active, my wifi connection seems to be dropping in strength so the Skype calls are not good.
Wifi and Bluetooth both use the 2.4 GHz spectrum but Bluetooth is supposed to work around it to find a frequency that is not used. I guess this unit does a poor job of it...

I haven't run into any problems with the adapter and it was only ~$20. I haven't tested the other bluetooth functions like data transfers and whatnot, but it would probably be alright.

If you're looking for a well-priced bluetooth adapter for your laptop or desktop, I would recommend the product. Happy shopping!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great for a while!, October 7, 2008
This review is from: Belkin Bluetooth USB +edr Adapter Class 2; V2.0 (Personal Computers)
This product was not cheap enough for the trouble and I only paid $7 for it. The first one I received DOA, the seller (Tech for less) was great and I received the replacement product within days. This one worked great...for about a week and a half then it would cut out randomly on my PC at work and my Mac at home. The hardware would shut down, then power back on, I just gave up on it and bought another brand. Once again I learn that you get what you pay for!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works with Mac Bluetooth Keyboard, September 6, 2008
This review is from: Belkin Bluetooth USB +edr Adapter Class 2; V2.0 (Personal Computers)
Simply plugged it in to my old Blue/White G4 Mac running 10.4.X and the Bluetooth icon immediately showed up in the menu bar (no drivers to install or any other installation of software). Then used the Bluetooth setup assistant to pair it with my new Mac Bluetooth keyboard (that came w/ my new iMac). Brilliant. Would have given it 5-stars if it was a little more aesthetic.

The installation was a breeze, had only one minor issue trying to determine what COM port the BT was using to connect to the desktop but I quickly figured that out. WiFi access seems ok to me. Will test more often and post later. I thought it was a neat product and so far its been going good.

I bought this item and while it was being shipped my computer died and I had to buy a new one, eliminating the need for this product. I contacted customer service and rather than have me ship it back (the cost alone more than the price of the item), they refunded my money and let me keep the adapter! Very nice, personable customer service.

I've been using this little adapter for almost 2 years. Plugged it in my Mac G5 tower, and was up & running in as much time as it took to turn on the Mac. Didn't install any drivers 9used Mac native drivers), and even managed to hook up the Mac bluetooth keyboard & mouse in no time. Sync time & transfers to my phone & iPod are excellent. In 2 years, this adapter hasn't once dropped connection or malfunctioned. Am I missing something or just lucky?

I was a little Skeptical at first with bluetooth add ons with Windows but the product works very well. I have been in IT for quite a while so I think I have seen a lot of products and their claims for simplicity.
Buy this and you should be quite satisfied.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor match with Mac Pro, poor support, December 21, 2008
This review is from: Belkin Bluetooth USB +edr Adapter Class 2; V2.0 (Personal Computers)
Belkin Bluetooth USB +edr Adapter Class 2; V2.0

Installation on Mac Pro went OK, but after restart Bluetooth is Off on the Mac and may only be switched on by starting the setup procedure again. Belkin's advice: Apple software is the problem. Apple's advice: we don't know Belkin.
