3.0 out of 5 stars Re-Synch. problem? September 28, 2013
Verified Purchase
Maybe it's me but every time I turn on my Kindle Fire I have to re-synch this keyboard with the Kindle device.

It only takes a couple of minutes but it's a pain and shouldn't be necessary.

Once synched, it works great and I prefer it over the Kindle touch screen keyboard but each time I shut down my Kindle Fire and then start it again, it has forgotten that it has a bluetooth keyboard attached.

This Belkin product comes with NO instructions so I don't even know if I'm doing something wrong.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This product is bad... it has a small set of instructions and a USB cord in the box for charging the janky keyboard....you gotta acquire a charger for it after you buy this mess for 70$ though.
The case: It has a slot for the Kindle's charger and HDMI port, and it seems to be decent quality, but the lack of autowake is a frustration. The Kindle is held by two small L shaped tabs and why Belkin didn't use the metallic grip of far superior Belkin Standing Case for Kindle Fire HD 7" to brace the entire device instead is major points off. If this isn't folded shut, I tested it by shaking them on a bed to mimic walking and this case drops the tablet on one or three shakes every time so kids should never hold your Kindle.
The awful keyboard will hit your screen when folded so definitely get a screen cover for your Kindle if you make a mistake like buying this.
Keyboard: It takes getting used to. It uses a Fn button that you hold to use symbols shift can't access (a second or third character in blue). The keys are awkwardly spaced so I constantly hit caps lock on accident in the first two sentences of my review...then I gave up because I'm not used to it and typing for years (20)... the Kindle touch keyboard it uses is far better.
I'll wrap this up with a rundown of major failings of the keyboard:
? is shift / (shouldn't the two be switched?)
' is Fn L (shouldn't commas be a shift if not a natural key?)
" is Fn ; (: is shift ;... both quotes and colons are used more than semicolons I believe)
<> are each shift symbols for , . and this is frustratingly stupid as more common punctuation symbols are on Fn as a result of this in some fashion.
Anyway... don't buy this keyboard case because it can break your Kindle when you let kids or adults who don't shut it properly.. and the keyboard is awful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Well November 23, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Works well, easy to connect and use. Frankly, I prefer my tablets to be tablets, and am not quite ready to use them as alternatives to computers. But this keyboard did make it easier to handle "on the run" emails and posts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect case for Kindle November 30, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I love all Belkin products. I have never been disappointed and this is no exception. When I first got my Kindle, I wanted a case right away and wanted to make sure I could see and feel the products before purchasing them. We went to our local electronics store where there was a wide range of products and found Belkin Genuine Leather Standing Case for Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation), Gravel (will only fit Kindle Fire HD 7", Previous Generation). It was so perfect! I wanted a Keyboard so ordered the AmazonBasics Bluetooth Keyboard for Android Devices (fits All Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX models), Black to go with it. I've been super happy with them both! And then I realized I could have both in a more portable design. This product is AWESOME!

The case is the absolute perfect material for your kindle. It's lightweight, doesn't get scratched in any way it folds perfectly and more importantly, you can access all the plugs and ports that you need - which is vital because I heard some other people had problems with this. The inside material is smooth and velvety with a great amount of insulation to keep the product protected (without being heavy, plus it's nice to the touch). The other thing I love about it is that it folds over to create a stand for the case at different levels.

The keyboard isn't as wide as the Amazon Basics product, and it's not bluetooth, but I like that. It's the perfect size and that you can get a decent sized keyboard that's SO PORTABLE is really amazing to me. I love this product and will continue to buy Belkin in the future.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
In my opinion, this keyboard case would be a poor everyday case - it holds the Kindle snug but not tight, the keyboard would bump against the screen leaving scratches (I have a protector on the screen, but it would scratch it as well). I use a simple leather cover to protect it from water, everyday bumps, etc. This case is equally susceptible to water and bumps and can be damaged.

But it is great for those times when a regular computer is not an option. This keyboard virtually turns my Kindle Fire HD 7" into a netbook with a touch-sensitive screen and that makes this keyboard a worthwhile purchase. Removing my Kindle from the other case and moving it to this case and syncing it up only takes a couple of minutes, but it is well worth it if you have to do a lot of typing and you hate the on-screen keyboard. The keyboard is relatively small, like a netbook, but it does the job and it has added a valuable dimension to my Kindle Fire HD 7"

3.0 out of 5 stars Cover and Keyboard combo
Nice cover and keyboard combo. Getting the "stand' feature to sit it up can be tricky. Bluetooth hookup can be a battery drain.

I'd give it 5 stars if the key board was backlit. Nice product though. That is my only complaint. That and maybe more color options.
