Belkin Cat-6 Snagless Patch Cable (Blue, 7 Feet)

This CAT6 Belkin cable performs poorly in download/upload speed tests and is poorly constructed. It isn't the 7-foot length because I have other 7-foot cables that perform splendidly in download/upload speed tests. The connectors are so-so; I've seen better. They would break easily and there is no boot protector to keep it firmly in the ethernet port. (See this Cables To Go 7ft CAT6 550Mhz Snagless Patch Cable Orange, which I bought around the same time I bought this Belkin cable, for what a good molded end on a cable should look like.) I have included photos of both on my kitchen table.

The cable is thin; it appears cheaply made to me. I have an identically constructed, shorter Belkin cable I recently received with a Belkin wireless router. The cable arrived D.O.A. The failure was likely caused by the simple packaging of the cable, which necessitates normal bending of the cable to pack it in the router retail packaging box. It should not have failed. I love the Belkin router but the cable was junk - D.O.A. Had I known the quality of that cable I would never have ordered the 7-foot cable, but I ordered the 7-foot prior to ordering the router.

I highly recommend instead the Cables To Go - 27812 - 7ft CAT6 550Mhz Snagless Patch Cable Orange which I own and have had great success with; it has great connectors and is thicker, with true CAT6 speed. It's a little more expensive, but it is worth it.

If you have not upgraded your cables to CAT 6 than you are waaaay behind. I love these cables and am very pleased with the packaging, ship costs, product, and communication. I have bought more since. Highly recommend this company and product.

Great Seller and great product. One always wonders "how fast is fast"? I work in an IT shop and am relatively familiar with networking speed. That being said, I was skeptical about what type of speed change, if any, would be noticed by changing my cables. Much to my surprise, once I swapped the cables from cat-5 to cat-6, I could actually see web pages load with more speed. I would like to caveat this by saying I have a gigabyte router and switch, but I had cat-5 cables hooked to these appliances prior to purchasing the cat-6 cables and still noticed a speed difference.

The way these are packaged, they tend be difficult to straighten and compared to Cables-to-Go, hard to loom and route.
