Customer Reviews

Sturdy surface for the laptop and decent cushioning for your lap.
JUST-JIM
Also would be nice if the top was a little more grippy but not a big deal.

Because of the high quality design, it should have a long service life.

This Belkin Cushdesk works well...it doesn't elevate your wrists unnaturally or uncomfortably (compared to the Belkin Cushtop). The firm black top surface is also usable as a writing desk when you're not using your laptop on it! The protruding lip helps keep your laptop onto the Belkin CushDesk. This is much better than the Belkin CushTop version despite not having storage space built into it.

While the Belkin CuskDesk is a stable working surface, there are no additional cooling benefits: if it was USB-powered, it could drain your laptop's battery. It doesn't have "fingers" that prop your laptop higher to provide additional natural venting, but it is a very sturdy product and using your laptop upon it is like using it on an actual table surface, so it does not impede on your laptops already built-in ability to maintain its temperature while on a flat surface. Feverishly working your CPU processor will be the primary cause of any laptop's fan from running at a higher than normal rate. The pad is usable in bed compared to the Belkin Cushtop model.

NOTE: As a warning to all laptop users...it is very dangerous to use your laptop in bed without a firm surface for it to rest upon because the bedding can easily block your computer's vents.

Met my expectation. It is wide enough for my MacBook Pro 17", looks nice and provides a comfortable barrier between my legs and the hellfire bottom of my MacBook.

I almost returned this as it was heavier than I expected and the cushioning is a bit stiff right over the knee caps where it rests when I am sitting with the lap top on it in the best position for me. The return shipping was too high and frankly that's the only reason I kept it. I found that it is working ok with a netbook which is a very light weight machine, and so I am enjoying it for use with that at this time, but would probably not have bought it at all had I been able to try it in a store first. The best part is the ledge bar that keeps machines like a macbook from slipping off it. However it didn't work for my macbook at all, and my netbook, which is all I use it with, has rubber feet so that doesn't slip on anything anyway. It's still a nice feature though. The seam around the lapdesk is actually very hard and I find it digs it anywhere it touches the body making it uncomfortable. I expected the padding to come up to meet the sides, but it does not. Therefore, I found that in using it with a 15in macbook, it was: too heavy, the seams pressed against me and the slanted cushion only dug into my legs right above the knees rather than slanting the machine, making way too much pressure over my knee caps. So, this is ok if you have a light machine, but there are also other solutions for that. For a better (and cheaper) heavier machine option(for something like a macbook), see my review of the LapGear Multi-purpose Jumbo LapDesk.

If you are one of those who spend a lot of time on your Laptop, you will need a pad on which you can rest your laptop, cos within minutes your laptop can become a molten slab after which it starts feeling uncomfortable to keep on your lap.
Have been using this pad since over 6 months now, and i find it a very neat solution for being comfortable with your laptop while its been staged on you.
However i do feel that after a couple of hours the pad getting warmer and warmer making it kind of uncomfortable to use.

This laptop desk is great.

it's a great combination of a solid top -- good for a laptop as well as for writing/drawing/etc. -- and a solid foam base for support. Easy to use when sitting or lying in bed, or to keep your computer from overheating when sitting on soft surfaces.

It fits my Macbook Pro 15 inch very well. The top is inclined, though, so if you try using it at an angle your computer will most likely slide forward unless you have some seriously grippy rubber feet.

I'm glad I purchased this, in any effect!

I am always perplexed as to why certain things are so expensive. I really think this desk should be half the price, but then again it seems to be the going rate so meh. I am pleased with its sturdy construction, my laptop (with little rubber feet of its own) does not slip on the surface, but if it did the lovely bumper would keep it in place. I really appreciate the degree to which it is angled, and find it to be very comfortable. The breathable fabric is not the most 'breathable' but is comfortable. The padding is also firm but comfortable. On the whole I am quite pleased with this.

Sitting with the laptop perched on my thighs and knees could often get too warm - even painful. This little "Cushdesk" was a great solution, and I'm enjoying it very much. It's also easy to use on a desk, table or even a TV tray! It's lightweight, so very portable, and costs less than the "fancier" ones I saw online. It's perfect for me!
