I bought this device to hook two computers to one printer using two different operating systems. Works perfect. Simple setup, straight forward use. The lights are clear and easy to read. My only complaint is the additional cables I had to buy, they only send one extra cable. I think they should give you four since you can add up to four devices. The price was good for what I got. I would recommend this for even novice users of computers.

I almost didn't buy this product because of the incorrect dimensions listed in the product description. As of this writing, the product dimensions are listed as 10" in size. I didn't want a 10" paperweight on my desk! Well I bought it anyway and it's much smaller: The REAL dimensions are 4" x 4.5" x 1.25". And it only weighs a few ounces.

This switchbox is exactly what I wanted: no software, just plug it in and it WORKS (how often does THAT happen?!?!) both with my iBook and my PC.

I've only had this product installed for a little over a week. Yet, the early results look real good. So, I am pleased. The product was VERY easy to install and get working right away. (I have it switching print jobs between various laptops running different operating systems; Mac OS-10.2.82, Microsoft Windows XP Professional, and Microsoft Windows 2000.) Although, in that there is no documentation, I can see some people possibly having trouble figuring out how to manually switch the ports by pressing the black button on the front of the device. The bottom line is - in my view and to no surprise, this being a dirt-simple device, all I did was set it and forget it.

Use with 2 computers and one printer. Love this product, this is a great invention for using more than two computers with one, two, or three devices.

My three computers are linked to the switch box and all is well. I am very pleased with how small, functional, and effective the switch box is.

I love how easy it is to have my MacBook Pro connected to an external keyboard and mouse when I'm at my home/office and switch easily over to my Mac minis and Mac Pros without any problems. Best time saver, space saver and pain in the a$$ saver I've bought in quite a while!

This is NOT an AUTO switchbox. It is a MANUAL switch where the user has to press a button to select the device to be connected.
In Windows, you will get an error "unsafe removal of device" when swiching.
NOT AS ADVERTISED.

This switch works, but ... the user must press one key multiple times to switch to the desired device, and ... the switch has a nasty habit of skipping over one or more ports while pushing the button (thus missing the one you want), and ... since you may have to pass through 3 USB ports to get to the one you want - it can confuse PC's or ancillary devices.

I think this would have been a better switch if it allowed to just press 1 of 4 buttons, thus selecting the USB port you want, rather than sequentially stepping through all ports to get to the one you want.

But, as I said, it works.

I use this switch to share a printer with two computers. It is easy to set up, use, and has been trouble free. A very minor wish is that it would automatically find the computer that is turned on first. However, to use the manual switch is simple. Am I glad that I have it? Yes. Would I buy another one, absolutely!
