5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly
No great mystery here. You have an ADC port on your Mac, and you have a DVI input monitor, then this is what you need. In my case, a PowerMac G5 with ATI Radeon 9600 (oem) video card and an LCD monitor with DVI input. I plugged this adapter into my PowerMac's ADC port and into a DVI monitor cable (that came with my monitor, hoooked it to my LCD monitor, and *poof*...

(Note: I already had another DVI monitor plugged into the DVI connection of my ATI video card, which is why I needed this adapter for a second monitor.)

I just bought two 22 Inch widescreen displays for my Dual G5 Mac tower. The video card it came with was a dual head (one DVI and one Apple Display Connector (ADC). This cable allowed me to connected the proprietary Apple port to a standard DVI port and get video out of the ADC to the display. Beautiful results.

The Belkin F2E9142 will not adapt the apple studio panel sceen that I own. My screen is terminated in a flying lead with a male ADC connector. This connector plugs into my Apple G4 Cube processor. The Belkin product will not mate with my screen because both components terminate in male connectors. The Belkin product is incorrectly described because it doesn't allow connection of an ADC screen to a DVI based processor. What it will do is allow an Apple cube to be connected with an up-to date DVI screen.
To use an Apple Studio ADC terminated screen one needs an apple adaptor costing $350. The item is costly because the studio screen does not contain a power supply and draws its power from the Cube to operate the screen itself and to power the 2x USB sockets at the rear of the screen. Any one wishing to update the Cube for an Apple Mini would do better to buy an iMac which comes complete with the latest screen technology and the Duo intel core processors with Snow leopard SW

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great with a Viewsonic VA2226W Flatscreen Display, December 22, 2007

This Adapter worked perfectly for me. I used it on a Power Mac G5 Desktop, Dual 2 GHz G5, model #M9032LL/A with ATI Radeon 9600 ProGraphics. I had a Viewsonic VGA monitor already connected to the DVI port through a DVI to VGA adapter. I wanted to add a second display, a Viewsonic LCD display (VA2226w) I used the converter on the computers ADC port to connect a DVI -D dual link digital cable to the monitors DVI input and it worked, no problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Belkin ADC to DVI adapter, December 11, 2009

I never thought I'd need one of these, but...
My G4 Slate Mac is still running strong and has a 32mb video card with a VGA and a ADC connection.
I wanted the best monitor image I could get for the money, so when I bought an Acer 20" monitor with DVI and VGA connector, I opted to use the DVI for optimum quality. That meant getting this adapter, which is hard to find. Changing the video card was not an option. On this Mac, a new video card would cost more than the new monitor. This was the best price around, and the connections were, of course, bullet-proof. Worked right out of the box at the highest resolution with no problems or settings to play with. I highly recommend this to anyone still squeezing the life out of their older Mac. The energy savings of using the LCD monitor alone will pay for this adapter.

This adaptor is perfect for those that have an ADC port on their Mac, but want to hook up a standard DVI LCD Monitor. Now my G5 has dual monitors and the adaptor saved me from having to buy another Graphics card.

Quicksilver G4 Dual 1GHz here. Got this adapter, connected it to the video card, connected a DVI-D<->DVI-D cable to the adapter and my new Dell 22" LCD... works like it should. Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars just what i needed, September 25, 2007

i did some resarch online and figured out this was the adapter i needed to hook up an older G4 tower (2001-ish) to a new 20 inch apple cinema display. I haven't used it much (thankfully since its only a back-up system incase my first generation macbook pro goes from just acting quarky to dead); but the few times i have use it, it works fine. If you are sure this is what you need, i'd recommend it, but make sure this is the right type of DVI since there are digital and analog versions.
