I have a very old PC with only 2 USB ports. This item not only comes with the pictured 1 USB port to 4 USB port hub/converter, it also includes a ~4" USB cable which was invaluable to me because of space constraints (my original 2 USB ports are too close together to plug the hub in directly). It also comes with a power supply that plugs into the side of the hub/converter. So far I'm not using the PS and I'm not quite sure why one would but -hey- Belkin probably has a better understanding of customer requirements than I do. All I know is that I've gone from 2 USB ports to 5.
11/3/07 This item has become even more invaluable as I now have a new keyboard in one of my 2 USB slots & the other USB slot has this hub connecting my printer, jump drive and camera USB connections! And one slot is still free! WONDERFUL item!
