This product did not fit my 120GB or 80GB Zune. I spoke with BELKIN customer service directly and was informed that this product has been discontinued and in fact was designed to fit "1rst Generation" Zunes. So in less you have one of the very original produced Zunes. DON'T BUY IT!!!

Great!,
This review is from: Belkin F8M027 TunePower for Zune (Electronics)
I use this almost everytime I go out. I don't have enough time to charge my Zune so I always have the charger charged and ready to go at all times. I just pick it up, hook it up and leave the door. I use this a lot at work. It is a great product and you can't go wrong. I showed it to some of my friends and they love it. They are looking forward to buying it from this website.

The TunePower (TP) slightly more than doubles the video play time of my Zune. In other words, I can have a fully charged Zune, watch videos till it gives the low battery warning, plug in the TunePower (TP), let the Zune recharge, watch video until I see Low Batt again, recharge, watch, and recharge a little bit one last time (about a 1/4 charge). You can recharge and watch at the same time too.
The TP is a form fitting device... the Zune will not fit into the holder of the TP if it has a cover/sleeve/case on it. I love the case I use for my Zune (also a Belkin) and didn't want to carry around the extra bulk of the case part of the TP... so I used a screwdriver to slip the holder part off the battery part like slipping a tire off a rim. It comes off and on pretty easy. The battery pack and cord are pretty small once you pry off the rubbery holder part. It still plugs in to the Zune and works just fine and the battery is still protected. It's just much smaller for transporting. Now I love, love, love it. It works great! If I didn't love my leather Belkin fold out case so much I would simply use the TP as a case. It doesn't add that much bulk. But to use a case and the TP... hmmm, that didn't work so good for me. Also, after prying apart to look at the insides, I'm betting the rechargable battery is replacable too. That would be great!

Good product, but discontinued.,

This product, and the companion one developed for iPods, are great ideas that can help you survive a long period without AC power. Unfortunately, this product was developed before the Zune 80 came out, and does not fit that model. And Belkin has apparently decided to discontinue the product for the Zune. You won't find it on their website, and I got this response from their customer service.
"Thank you for contacting Belkin Technical Support. Unfortunately, the Tunepower for Zune part # F8M027 has been discontinued and a tray was never created for the new 80GB model. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us again. Thank you for your interest in Belkin products. Christopher Proctor Belkin, Inc. Absolutely Worth Every Penny,
This review is from: Belkin F8M027 TunePower for Zune (Electronics)
Works better than advertised. I bought this device and hooked it up to my Zune at full charge for both devices. I re-played the same hour and a half movie (768 K encoded) 5 times. The tunepower only went down to 50% battery level. The zune battery stayed at 100%. Needless to say, the battery life for the zune is ridiculous with this thing. I recommend unplugging the tunepower from the zune when not in use. Also, the AC adapter plug on the tunepower is only accessible if you open the kickstand, which wasn't obvious at first. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to use their zune to watch videos.

Great accessory for the Zune; weakness of Zune I believe is the battery and its usability. This accessory takes care of that very well. It does increase the size of the unit, but doubles the battery lasting capability. I am very pleased with it.

not made for all models but works well,

I found the the Belkin tunepower for the Zune works as stated. My only complaint is that it's not made for all models. The 80 gig Zune will not fit. So I removed the rubber frame that holds the zune, this can be done in three seconds. I then applied velcro to the tunepower and to the back of my zune so now I can attach the tunepower and detach as I desire with no problems. Also the rubber frame can easily be reattached if needed.

Belkins connector did not line up with my Zune 120's connector,

CONCLUSION: I did return the item to the seller (much cheaper than Amazon), but bought through Amazon.com. I did pay for the shipping, close to $7 us.
============================================================== Well, I bought this unit because of all the great reviews here BUT, as the title of the post states it, no matter how much I tried, even forced the connector in the Belkin unit to connect to my Zune 120 ,(even to the point that I might have run the risk of damaging my Zune's connector) The connectors simply did not line up with each other. I was surprised of this because I did not see anything related to this problem in these reviews... Does anyone here had the same problem? Please help.

Amazon's description is farked,

I own this product. I bought it somewhere other than Amazon.
If you have a 1st generation Zune (e.g. a Zune 30), it is a great way to double your battery life at the expense of some extra bulk. It also makes a nice stand and docking/charging station for your uncased Zune 30. If your Zune is anything but a Zune 30, DON'T buy it, it only works with the 1st-gens, just like a lot of the original Zune 30 accessories. I can see why a lot of you 80/120 owners are ticked off, looking at Amazon's description I can see that they didn't include that "minor" little detail in the description. But that's Amazon's fault, not the products'. The product is innovative and works well. It's a good product designed for the ZUNE 30. And that's all. That's it. People forget that when this product was released, that was the only Zune on the market. (based on the Toshiba GigaBeat) If you don't know what kind of Zune you have, go to Settings---->about Zune and take a look. Also the original Zune 30's had equalizers, the others don't. |
