Pros: soft surface yet very firm. I like how it works with both 15.4" and 17" notebooks. Great positioning for using while sitting in bed or on the couch.
Cons: Does not allow your notebook to breathe, there is zero room between the top surface and the bottom of the notebook. Belkin claims that the fabric allows for air to move freely but I have had my notebook shut down 3 times due to overheating, and that's no bueno!

This is a poor solution for cooling, if you have a notebook that tends to run hot anyway due to the way you use your notebook, burning DVD's, downloading, copying files, severe multitasking and maybe harware(Dual core, 4 gigs memory)find another solution.
I ended up buying an Antec cooler (looks like a silver X) and I set it under the Belkin which makes it a little taller than it was before but like I said the lift and angle of the Belkin is really nice.

I needed something that would fit level in my lap while I typed papers and did work on my computer.. A couch cushion/pillow wasn't doing the trick. This cushtop keeps my legs cool and my computer upright. I can sit on my bed for hours and not worry about feeling uncomfortable.. I would highly recommend to anyone who spends a lot of time on the computer but doesn't like to always sit at a desk.. Great product!!

The main reason I ordered the CushTop is because of the way my previous laptop met its demise: by a spilled glass of water on the desk flowing under it.

With the CushTop, I feel like I have a very affordable insurance policy against this accident EVER happening again! Beverages and food really can't spill onto/under my laptop now, AND it's at a great height for viewing. The icing on the cake is that it's also very comfortable to use on my lap; no more overheated legs!

This provides a nice, firm support at just the right angle -- it's not "floppy" or soft foam or anything that might make it feel as though the computer would fall off (also, the rubber grips on the laptop itself hold it in place).

Unlike other reviewers, I have no trouble fitting my cords and the charger box thing on the cord into the center opening....perhaps some laptops have bigger chargers? (I have a Toshiba Satellite U305 13.3") I don't think a mouse would fit in there, though...maybe an ACTUAL mouse would, but it might chew up the cords. ;-)

In summary...LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Buy it, you won't regret it -- especially if you can't help but keep a beverage next to your laptop!

The Good
If you have a 15.4 inch laptop, expect a great product that is stable and not wobbly. I tested it.

The Bad
If you have a 17inch laptop, expect a product that does not support your laptop effectively. "Flip it over and presto you have a surface for a 17inch laptop" Hardly, the base is now smaller then the top. When moving it off your lap, you have to be extra careful the laptop does not tip over, because it will. ( I tested this on a soft surface, completely top heavy on the screen side and fell right over) This is an accident waiting to happen with a 17inch laptop. The manufacture should be ashamed to advise this for use with a 17inch laptop. Because this was obviously designed for a 15inch laptop.

Honestly, I didn't even know these things existed! I was visiting my son and noticed my daughter-in-law using one of these and immediately logged on to Amazon and ordered one for myself! I got it today and I've been using it all day long. For once my lap is not getting uncomfortably warm from hosting my laptop or sweaty from the blanket I usually have to rest it on to keep from getting burned. Plus the stablity is fantastic and it's easy to position it well even when using my laptop in my recliner. The bottom of my laptop is not nearly as hot as it usually is so I have to conclude that this thing actually does absorb and disperse the heat. This product has made me a very happy camper, considering how much time I spend with a laptop actually in my lap!

My MacBook Pro runs too hot to put on my lap, but since I've gotten the CushTop I can hang out on the couch and use my notebook while watching TV. The cushion is a good height that doesn't place strain on my wrists. Plus, it's a nice neutral color so that I can stick it next to the couch and it looks like a part of the furniture. Highly recommended.

I am disabled and do most of my computer work lying down. I have 3 different notebook stands which I use for different projects, but the Belkin is my favorite.

This cushtop makes it easier to use my laptop on any other location that isn't a desk. I have a 14.1 inch laptop and it is the perfect size. Much better than propping my laptop on a pillow as the pillow would not allow for good ventilation. Great buy and cheaper than buying at a retail store.

I have a Macbook Pro and a sony vaio. I bought this stand after reading all the great reviews.

My findings are as follows:
1) Its definitely comfortable to work on.
2) The surface is a bit coarse. So while working in shorts, I feel a slight irritation in the legs. Then I checked the pics here and noticed the model is wearing long pants :)
3) The smaller surface works perfectly for a 15" laptop. Both my laptops fit just fine.
4) My sony vaio is a heat machine..probably as hot as the sahara desert! I didnt find a great improvement in heat control here. Its definitely better than placing the laptop on ur lap, but after reading all the reviews claiming heat reduction, I was slightly disappointed.

So 3 stars for this one from me. A decent choice but not one of the best.

This keeps your lap cool and most importantly will keep your laptop cool. Performs better than the fan coolers that suck energy from your USB ports. It isn't "cush" it is a firmer foam. I have a 17 inch screen and I use it, and on the other side our 14 inch screen will fit on it too. Great buy
