4.0 out of 5 stars Not for international travel
Don't let the "220" part of the model number fool you: this is for North American 110/120 voltage only, NOT for the rest of the world's 220/240 voltage. Also, it doesn't protect both Ethernet and modem cables simultaneously, it will protect one or the other only.

3.0 out of 5 stars Belkin Travel Surge Protector
This surge protector is big, bulky and heavy. But it is sturdy -not really good for travel as advertised cuz it takes up so much room in your netbook case. An inline surge protector would have been better. But then it only cost less than $8 so I can't expect much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done, February 15, 2007
This review is from: Belkin F9H220-TVL Travel Surge Protector with Hidden Swivel Plug (Electronics)
It works just like it's supposed to... It's not supper tiny, but then I've never seen a decent surge protector that was. I like the fact that the prongs fold up into the body so they don't kill anything in my backpack or laptop case. I also like that fact that it's a single unit without any extra cords. I have enough cables hanging off my laptop and one more to untangle & stuff in my bag would be one more too many...

I almost gave it four stars...then thought, "Why?" It does everything it's designed to do and fits everything I carry my laptop in...

This is small, lightweight, and works well. The photo only shows one outlet, but there are actually two (there is another outlet on the other side) so you can have up to two devices plugged into this adapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy for home use or travel!, June 24, 2007

I purchased two of these to use in the two places in my house that I use my laptop. It is nice not having to move the cord and surge protector every time I move my laptop. It didn't cost that much to have two AC Adapters and two of these surge protectors and the convenience is priceless.

I have found Belkin electronic items to always be of excellent quality.

Although I haven't travelled with it yet, I know that I will appreciate having my own little surge protector to plug in when I am in a strange place. You cannot be too careful. It is compact and, with the plug part folded in, easy to pack up for traval.

***BTW, take note that they are also listed under the model number F9H220 for a lot more money, but they are both the exact same Belkin item!***

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, February 5, 2009

This little surge protector saved my computer! After someone hit a transformer in my neighborhood, a massive surge went through my house and the whole county. This protector and another fried, but my computer didn't! Well done Belkin! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Convenient and nicely made., October 31, 2007

I cannot attest to its ability in the power surge department, as I've never had one, but I am a fan of most Belkin products and feel comfortable that it will do its job.

I purchased two of these to keep with my laptop cords, one in each of two opposite areas of my house, and plan to bring one with me when I travel. It is nicely made and I like having the outlets on the sides because I actually had to place each of them behind furniture and if the outlets were in the front they would protrude out WAY too far.

I didn't have the problem that another reviewer mentioned about have a difficult time opening up the retracting plug, however, and found this very easy to operate.

This is great when traveling with a computer. The smallest surge protector Ive found. I have had no problems with it and even use it at home.

My friend also has this, and thought the description was wrong about the ethernet ports. In the picture you can easily see the ethernet in/out on the botton of the unit. When you get it, there is a silver sticker stating electrical hazards (as with most electrical things), you must peel off the sticker to reveal the ethernet ports.

The Belkin F9H220-TVL Travel Surge Protector performs as advertised. I use this product specifically for my notebook computer, so it resides inside the computer's tote bag. The swivel feature eliminates the possibility of the prongs spearing other items in the carry bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars The score is right on., February 14, 2009
This review is from: Belkin F9H220-TVL Travel Surge Protector with Hidden Swivel Plug (Electronics)
It's portable, offers a decent amount of protection, and I've never had a problem with it in the year and a half that I've owned it. It definitely does a lot of traveling with me and, with two outlets, it practically pays for itself. It's definitely worth the $16 dollars not to have to fight your neighbor for plug space when your using community outlets. Don't forget to register it with Belkin right away though;make sure you can take advantage of the warranty if something does goes wrong *knock wood*.

I always travel w/ my MacBook Pro, and feel the need to protect it from power surges. This product is a great size and is the perfect travel companion for my Mac. And it comes w/ a serious guarantee. I guess you can call it "peace of mind".
