This stand is a nice object with quality metal and rubber. It looks good, it is way to transport, I like the four positions but has 2 main flaws.
First, to open/close it or select the position you need to push at the same time the two buttons to release the spring and pretty often one button gets stuck and you have to force a bit which does not give a precision/quality feeling and can be annoying.
The main flaw to me is that it's not perfectly stable and when using the tablet it will move so you always get the feeling it will fall down if you are not extra cautious. This limits the usage of this stand to digital photo frame or video watching and makes Web browsing or games not a very pleasant experience.

My wife got this for me and it look and felt great when we opened in, but it does not work very well. The area that actually hold the iPad at the bottom has a pretty wide gap and is not snug at all, so when you touch the screen the iPad moves. the stand itself also has quite a bit of flex, so if you were surfing the web of playing Angry Birds on this stand it would flex up to 1/2" with each touch, which it REALLY annoying.

If you were only using it as a reading stand for ebooks and not touching the screen very much than I guess it would be ok.

We returned ours.

I had always liked the concept that Skadoosh folks had come up with their portable stand.
Thought their asking price was a bit on the high side, but who knows maybe one day I'll try one out but

FOLKS in the meantime, this Belkin is one hell of a good substitute. I was a little hesitant on this at first but when I tried it's really terrific.

Very sturdy & stable, certainly portable, extremely light weight, and has enough viewing angles to satisfy pretty much anyone.

One thing I as not sure of, and I had called Belkin to inquire about the thickness of the opening to hold the unit. Would it be able to handle a case?

Glad to report that there is quite a bit of comfortable breathing room there to handle a shell and smart cover.

The stand is fully padded in all areas if you don't have a case, but I think most intelligent folks do, so if you have a reasonably thin case, leather,
smart cover whatever, your probably going to be fine using the FlipBlade.

I tried the FlipBlade Adjust stand with The Marware MicroShell Folio,
The Speck shell, he Mophie Workbook for Ipad 2, and of course the Belkin Snap shield. Really any reasonably slim fitting case you'll be ok, if not just return, but none the less this is one fine stand for the ipad 2!

A big thumbs up to Belkin on this and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a low profile dependable stand.

I bought this stand to support my new iPad 3 which I keep in a CaseCrown Bold Standby Case. Prior to getting this stand, I used a 1.75 liter bottle of Jack Daniels on its side as a leaning device. The stand cradle is just a tad too narrow to fully seat the case due to the case's width. However, it does seat it enough for it not to be a problem in both portrait and landscape modes. I'm quite happy with the case. I'll use my Jack Daniels for drinking only now.

Pros:

(1) adjustable
(2) compact size

Cons:
not durable.

I like it a lot. The material and quality of the product is satisfying.

However, it is broken today (Feb.19.2012). I bought it on Dec.2.2011. I did not use it very often. But the flipper button came out. :(

Thus, I changed five stars comment to two stars.

Hope it will be helpful to you.

Well made product, with good adjustment and quality rubber cushioning on bottom of stand and area that holds the iPad, but it has a very loose fit with the new iPad (and, I'm assuming, the iPad 2). The lower part of the stand, where the bottom of iPad rests, is too wide front to back to provide a snug fit (this is without any casing or cover on the ipad), and the front part of this area sticks up just a 1/4" in front of the ipad.

With the ipad sitting in the stand, in portrait or landscape, I didn't feel it was secure enough for anything but the gentlest touching/swiping, and I would definitely be concerned about the iPad being tipped off the stand if it was accidentally bumped.

Though not perfect, this is an excellent iPad stand and for the price, it's definitely worth five stars here.

It basically clicks into one of four positions plus closing flat (for packing away mostly). Fully open, this stand is almost vertical, which I find to be too vertical, in my opinion... but the other three clicked positions are really useful and, more importantly, they're also quite stable. I find the middle click to be the best position on my desk. I do have a pro and a con to add:

Pro: it's easy to reach behind your iPad while in this stand and grab the stand too, carrying both to another table. Note the top of the loop in the pics. Your fingers fall inside that loop when picking your iPad up. It works really well.

Con: With your iPad in portrait position, you'll probably bump the bottom front of this stand when reaching for the home button. At first, that bugged me, but now I don't even notice... and, really, I tend to have my iPad in landscape mode anyway, so it's not a problem. Still, it is poor design by Belkin. They could have easily made the center of that bar lower.

That being said, I still rate this stand 5 stars and highly recommend it. I use this stand far more than I ever thought I would. I'm very glad I bought it.

P.S. Props to Belkin for not putting a logo on the front of it. I appreciate that.
