NOTE: Will only work on monitors smaller than 17 inches.,

Ghosting was unbearable on my 17" monitor when plugged into this extension. Did a little research and found the product information for this F2N025-06 cable on the Belkin Website. The last bullet item states: "NOTE: Will only work on monitors smaller than 17 inches." Sure wish I had seen this information on the Belkin site before I wasted my time and money.

Cheap enough but you get what you pay for. The cable is too thin and caused ghosting on my monitor!

Yup - bad ghosting with this low-quality cable,
This review is from: Belkin HDDB15M/F PC Monitor Extension Cable (6 ft) (Personal Computers)
Hey - my first review! Go me. Anyway, I bought this cable for about $10 at Staples today, after blowing off one at Radio Shack for $25. This was to extend the reach of a new 19" Dell LCD (analog). I get horrible ghosting and some twitchy text. I tested the monitor (with a normal cable) on my laptop, and it looks great - I tested it again on the laptop with this extension cable in between, and the ghosting came back. I guess you get what you pay for - the Radio Shack one (I forget the brand, but it wasn't the house brand - maybe 3M?) was super thick. I think I'll just order a high-quality 10' male-male cable with the shielding the other poster referred to. Sorry Belkin, this one's a dud.

Pretty decent,

Certainly does the job - they're not as durable as I might like, but if you're assembling a server rack or otherwise in need of a number of monitor extension cables, you could do worse than this. I bought five and I'm happy with them - you're not paying for the Monster Cable kind of durability. I haven't seen any ghosting or other problems, even in a fairly crowded server rack, although I can understand why the other reviewer would find that to be a problem!

This product produces horrible ghosting - why they would make it, I do not know. A total waste of money, unconscionable.

Garbage!,

Fuzzy video and ghosting when used at 1280x1024 pixels, 85hz refresh rate. Slightly better but still unacceptable at 70hz.

Very Poor Quality - Ghosting Images,
By A Customer
This review is from: Belkin HDDB15M/F PC Monitor Extension Cable (6 ft) (Personal Computers)
This review is for the Belkin F2N025 6 Ft PC Monitor Extension cable. I start off saying this because if you read many of the other reviews listed here...you will see that the reviewers are talking about other types of extension cables, like for their printer or keyboard. Those cables are very different, and serve a much less demanding purpose. Video cables are very sensitive to RFI interference. Just look at the cable that came with your monitor; it's very thick (at least twice as thick as this Belkin model)) and it has one or two ferrite clamps (those round large objects near the end of the cable. This monitor extension cable is not a good one. It causes ghosting of images on the monitor and fuzzy text. I imagine this is because the cable is very thin and not shielded. Also the cable may be in need of an additional ferrite core to go around one end of it. That is the way most cables are assembled which come directly with new monitors. This ferrite core serves to block out RFI interference just as shielding on a cable does. They both work in different ways and are synergistic in their effect on interference. I tried this cable on three different monitors in different locations and each time the text was ghosting and fuzzy. BTW, when I hooked those monitors directly to the same video cards (without the extension cable) the images and text were again clear and sharp. This cable just isn't very well designed. ... |
