Belkin Holster Case for Zune 30 GB (Black and Gray)

The case has a nice design and the Zune fits perfectly inside. The clear LCD protector does not distort your video or images. There's only one issue that you should be aware of and that is if you have the docking station for your Zune, you will have to remove the Zune from the case before you can dock it. I don't find that to be an issue but I thought I bring that to your attention. Other than that, you can attach the USB cable to the Zune while it is inside the case without a problem.

From researching sites like this, it looked like this case and the Speck Toughskin are the two best cases for the Zune 30. I bought this one, but haven't seen the Speck.

Likes:
- Can remove easily from the case. This is important if you use the Zune in a dock (including a speaker dock like the Altec Lansing), or if you use the Belkin Tunepower (an additional battery pack).
- Nice looking colors (black, grey, tan lining) that help disguise my brown Zune's unattractive color.
- Built-in screen protector. Haven't noticed it's there, so I guess it's not visible in use.
- Open sync/charge port. With wireless sync, I'm no longer attaching the Zune to the computer. Instead, I charge by attaching the sync cord to an A/C adaptor that has a USB output. (I've found that lithium ion batteries, which are supposed to only have about a two-year lifespan, are lasting more than four years in my lightly-charged devices, so separating charging from syncing has given me the ability to limit my Zune charge cycles.) If you're worried about lint from your pocket getting into the port, then this open port is not an advantage.

Dislikes:
- The clip is far from foolproof. It's too easy when bending for your thigh to push the large Zune off your belt. Happened two times during the first hour I had it on my belt. If you're just going for a walk, for example, this might not be an issue.
- The thick leather around the exposed click wheel means that when intending to click ff or rew, you sometimes instead accidentally activate the buttons to the far left (go back) or far right (play/pause). I've adjusted mostly, getting my whole finger into the recessed click wheel area before clicking with the edge of my finger or fingernail.

The reviews of the Speck indicate that belt clip is secure. They also indicate it's more difficult to pull your Zune in and out of the Speck case.

of course it is the only case i have ever tried, but having tried it, i don't think i will ever get another one. it shows the screen wonderfully and all the buttons are reachable. so... good job belkin!

I like it because you can still reach the buttons without some type of cloth covering it. Great for avoiding scratches.

I recently got a used Zune on Ebay cheap, but it looked beat up, and the screen looked almost sand-blasted. So for [...] bucks,I ordered the Belkin holster,and I love it so much that I got one for my "good" Zune as well.It's made of good quality leather,black with gray accents,a screen protector that lines up perfectly with the Zune and actually heps to hide some of the scratches on the screen, and a soft microfiber inner lining to baby your Zune and keep it from moving around in its case. You have access to sync and headphones with the case closed.One minor quibble is that the fuction buttons are somewhat compromised by the solid leather,but they do work.Bottom line: This case is a bargain and offers solid,stylish protection for your 30gb Zune!

Item arrived with a scratched screen cover, which is supposed to prevent scratches! The large "D" button is difficult to access when using this case. I returned it and found something else.

This item keep my zune safe and it allows me to charge it and use it without removing it, this is the second set i own the first was a gift, and for me it was easy to choose it

I have had this case for about a year. I do not use it everyday. It protects nicely. The window is clear. You have to get used to pushing the buttons with the cover on, no big deal. You just have to make sure it is pushed down in the case so the buttons line up with the spots on the case. Clips on belt. Basic black and gray, thick enough to give a bit of cushion.

I ordered this item thinking it was a 2 piece case/holster for my Zune 30gig. It is indeed a 1 piece case with a belt clip, not the 2 piece holster I'm used to. In order to use it, you have to fumble around getting it back on your belt, hence it only works standing up straight. I like the 2 piece better because you can swivel it to any position and only fit piece 1 to piece 2 already clipped to your belt. I guess it's my mistake that I didn't understand what I was buying. Other than that, the price was good and shipping was fast. the case is quite sturdy and fits very well, exactly what I'm used to with Belkin products.

Too difficult to use my zune after I put it on ... it makes zune looks so heavy. I like other Belkin products as there quality is really good but this one not worth it.
