Great product, however I've found that some devices, when connected to the hub won't function properly. In particular, (ATTN DJ's) the serato scratch live hardware will not pass a signal when connected through the hub.

All in all however, its a great piece of hardware, looks slick on my desk and hides a lot of ugly wires.

(Another small note, the LED was red in the unit i received.)

It is a powered USB hub so there is no problem charging/using several devices at the same time (phone, MP3 player, camera, flash drives, etc.) Rather than drilling through my desktop, I mounted the product in the wall and ran all wires to another hole and grommet beneath the desktop level. I like keeping my desktop clutter free so I built small shelves to hold the items while they are being charged/accessed. It works great for me. I have mounted two of these for both myself and my wife. This gives us 8 powered USB ports each that are easy to reach and we only use 2 of the USB ports on our PCs. My PC now has USB 3.0, so I am looking forward to Belkin refreshing this product with the new capabilities, but I hope they retain the form factor/mounting grommet so I can just run the new cables, snap in the new ports and I am all set. I have been using these for about 2 months now and have had no problems at all.

Purchased 2 of these.
After a few months, one of them inexplicably stopped working. Amazon.com's customer replaced it immediately, (service rep was awesome, btw), and have had no problems with the replacement.

I just wish the product had a better description.

It IS USB 2.0.

It comes with a power plug and a USB A-B cord.

The center is removable from the socket ring, so you can install the ring and then install the center at a later time.

The power and the usb connection cord are on the underside of the base, and there are only the 4 connections on the top.

My only complaint is that the hub will not power USB powered items, unless my computer is on, even though it is plugged into the wall. So when I plug my iPhone into it, and the computer is not on, it won't charge.

That is what separates this from a 5 star review.

I had a gaping hole in my desk from a monitor arm that I retired, and I needed something to fill it. I also had a USB hub sitting there that kept getting dragged off the desk due to the weight of the cables. So I got this item to solve both problems. I chose it over the competition because it was a powered hub which was important for my application (charging items while my computer is off.)

The only issue I had was enlarging the hole to the size of the hub. That was solved by using a hole saw. But with no place to put the center drill bit of the hole saw, I resorted to an old trick I learned from a woodworking magazine: I first drilled a piece of plywood with the same size hole (3") and clamped that to the top of my desk, and then used the plywood template to guide the hole saw over my smaller (2") existing hole. Without the template, the saw would have wandered all over the desk.

Pretty much does what you'd expect it to do. I had no problems running any usb device (hard drive, card reader, phone, bluetooth headset) with Vista.
Looks real neat in the desk. The 4-port is a little large, I'd probably get the smaller version next time.

I added two of these hubs to my desk. Cutting the holes in the desk was much more difficult than placing and using these hubs. They are simple to set up and with the power and USB to computer cable underneath the desk/hub, it has cleaned up my desk and made it convenient to plug in certain devices far from the computer. Works great!

I have installed this in an Ikea Micke desk hole and it works perfectly. I use this to plug in thumb drives without having to open the PC cabinet door. The only drawback is that it's only USB 2.0. I have yet to find a USB 3.0 version of this type of desk grommet / hub. I have seen one on Amazon, but it's not available.

This made my life easier (I got 2 since i have backups and photo files for graphic work). I hate cords...hanging from the back of desk. Cut into my desk, utiized 1 drawer for all my connections and hooked up with these hubs. PERFECT. No cords to trip up dogs. A+
