Installing the Belkin USB card has been the easiest upgrade in recent memory. I put it into a 4-year-old Dell tower running Windows 2000. The card was automatically detected and software installed -- it never asked me for a thing!

I own an old Mac PowerPC with OS 9.1. The computer didn't come with any USB ports and the old HP printer I was using finally died. I needed to connect my PowerPC to a new printer with USB cables, so I decided to install a USB PCI card and cross my fingers. At first the computer didn't recognize the card, so I turned to Apple support for help. As it turned out, my OS didn't have the necessary extensions in the extension folder to run a USB PCI card; I was missing six essentials extensions and needed to have them downloaded into my system folder. If you face the same problem, check out the following article in the Apple Support Community (kmos9: USB PCI card under Mac OS 9.2.2). The article will outline the six extensions required; open your extensions folder to see if you have them available and turned on. If you find them missing, download TomeViewer from [...] and extract them from your original OS CD (the instructions are included with the download). The steps you need to follow are in the article written by kmos9. Good luck.......... Also, make sure your operating system complies with Open Host Controller Interface specifications. This card AND OS 9.1 do.....
