This laptop carrier is perfect to house my laptop. I not only shields it from damage it provides a portable work table to hold the laptop. I can just open this carry case and use my laptop. A lot of laptop cases require you remove your laptops before you can use them. This one opens up easily. It also keeps the heat from the laptop from getting your legs or lap hot, so it is also a great insulator. I've used those devices sold to cool off the bottom of laptops but when you put them in your lap they are usually bulky or they won't stay where they are supposed to. But with this laptop case it holds my laptop snugly in place as I work.
Side story: This is my second Belkin Laptop Case. The first one I bought was a grey colored one. But after a couple of coffee spills it left big brown stains on it. Although I'm not planning on getting any coffee close to this case it wouldn't matter if I did spill any on it because I got the brown Belkin Laptop case. I also replaced my old case because my cats absolutely loved the texture of the outside of this case. Even with countless and furious scratching 'attacks' the fabric on the Belkin held up fairly well, but with time it did start to look scratched up. I don't let my cats near my new case. Food for thought if you have a cat.
