Product Description

Product Description

The Belkin Wireless G Plus Desktop Card connects your desktop computer to your wireless network. With a Belkin Wireless G Plus Router as the central connection point of your network, your computers can share your high-speed Internet connection as well as files, printers, and hard drives.By achieving networking speeds that are faster than standard 802.11g, the Wireless G Desktop Card provides increased real world networking speeds. This means you will see overall speed improvements in mixed mode networking environments where other 802.11g devices may be present. Wireless G Plus offers even faster speeds in pure G Plus networking environments. Wireless G Plus technology is interoperable with all other wireless devices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly in Mac OSX 10.4.3, December 6, 2005
This review is from: Belkin WLS DT NTWK CARD-125MBPS 802.11G ( F5D7001 ) (Electronics)
I purchased this card for a PowerMacintosh G4 Quicksilver tower. After reading about some possible difficulties with this card in a Mac, I called Belkin before purchasing it. The friendly tech person assured me that all versions of this card would work in a Mac with the latest version of OSX. Sure enough, I bought the card, installed it, and it just works. Nothing to modify or install. Whether or not this means they've returned their line to the Broadcom chipset, or the Apple Airport drivers now detect the new chipset, I don't know. All I can say is that this card works flawlessly in a PowerMac G4 tower with OS 10.4.3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mac OS X 10.4.8 user takes note..., November 6, 2006
By Rav (Connecticut, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Belkin WLS DT NTWK CARD-125MBPS 802.11G ( F5D7001 ) (Electronics)
The box design on this site is old. The new box design has green bar instead of red as you seen here. I got mine from Walmart for $50. They also have the $35 one but it may not be Mac compatible because it doesn't say broadcom under the trademark. The $35 version (Part # F5D7000), with red bar design, is a "G" version and it is not a 125 High Speed Mode. The $50 version (Part # F5D7001), with green bar design, is a "G+" version and it is a 125 High Speed Mode. 125 High Speed Mode is a trademark of broadcom. My QuickSilver G4 (2002) recognizes the card, the "G+" version, instantly and it works with Airport version 4.2. I don't know if it runs on 125MB or not because I don't have the Belkin "G+" router. But it works on my Buffalo G54 AirStation on 802.11g (54MB). My "G+" hardware card is version 2000 (it says on a sticker outside the box).

4.0 out of 5 stars works fine... now !, August 2, 2005
By Waloo (France, near Paris) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Belkin WLS DT NTWK CARD-125MBPS 802.11G ( F5D7001 ) (Electronics)
Pros:
Works fine
Lifetime warranty (in France, maybe Europe)
Good support

Cons:
Did not work with nonadministrator users... until this morning

I had the same problem as M. Cato with this card.

So I searched the web for a solution during 4 days (well, evenings is more appropriate), without founding one.

At the same time, I made a support request at french Belkin support.

Bingo !

(translated from french by myself ;-) )
"Please, find hereunder a link to download some beta drivers that should solve the problem. Those drivers have not completely been approved yet and could bring other errors. Should you observe bugs, do not hesitate to contact us again"

ftp://supportbelkin.no-ip.org/Network,%20Routers%20&%20adapters/F5D7001/

I installed the drivers, and since then, all my nonadminstrator users can now connect to the network ! Great !
It seems to me that Belkin worked on this issue sinc february (M.Cato's review)

Hope this will be helpful to other customers.

PS: I post this here, because during my investigations, this review came up several times :)
