5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for!
I've never been one who submits product reviews, however, oddly enough I do research them before buyting something. On this particular product I read the reviews before I purchased this product, and it seems that there is a lot of mixed feelings over it. I was almost shying away from buying it, and then I found it on Amazon for a really great price, so I went for it...

2.0 out of 5 stars A little on the tight side
This is a really small armband. It's okay for women and gentlemen without especially manly arms, but if you're more than 15" around the bicep, look elsewhere.

I've never been one who submits product reviews, however, oddly enough I do research them before buyting something. On this particular product I read the reviews before I purchased this product, and it seems that there is a lot of mixed feelings over it. I was almost shying away from buying it, and then I found it on Amazon for a really great price, so I went for it.

My motivation to get it was I'm a formity type buyer, when I bought my Zune 8G I was dissapointed there was no sport band for it. A year agod I switched my life from Mac to PC (yes i'm a PC!) and the Zune was part of that change over. I could have bought a different sports band, but waited, as I knew it would not be long before this product existed.

What the reviews said was that it was "small", that it was not durable, that it was difficult to get in and out of it's sleeve, that the touch pad did not work, and that you could not leave it in the band while charging.

Well regarding the small accusation, unless your Hulk Hogan I think you'll be fine. I'm a 27 y/o former division one athlete, who keeps himself in good shape. I run several times a week, use this while at the gym, and use it while spending hours on the driving range and putting green, and it doesn't bother me. It's snug, but certainly not uncomfortable. Regarding the durability I've not had an issue at all, it still looks to be brand new. I LOVE the key holder (a reasonably sized slit in the band where you can slip your key in while you jog, etc., which was a consumate issue for me). I've experienced no issues regarding the touch pad while in the sleeve at all. I've actually got to remember to lock it,cuz it works so well. As far as getting in and out of the sleeve, i do it often, as I plug it in to the auxilery adapter in my car, every day, and have no issues. I mean if your a gorilla who has trouble using your opposable thumb, it might be difficult. But I'm confident that it's not going to come out of the sleeve, which is important to me. I don't have to wrestle it to get it out at all, so ease your mind there. The only thing I can't "defend" is the USB cable connection while in the sleeve. It's true that you can't plug the USB cable in to charge it. Though, to me this is totally a non issue. I take it out often as said, and don't like to leave the Zune in the armband so the who thing has an opporutnity to air out. I don't know why this would be an issue for anybody, as it's not for me.

Well, that's my thoughts, i'm fully satisfied, and think you will be too.

A.

If you work your arms, or if you're heavy, DO NOT buy this. It will not fit around any upper arm that has any muscle or fat.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Belkin Neoprene Armband for Zune 4/8 GB (Black/Gray) (Electronics)
This is my first armband for an MP3 player, so I cannot compare it to other armbands in terms of how comfortable it is.

What I like about it is that it's easy to wash, and is low maintenance. Also, you do not need to press the controller in the zune when it is inside the armband, but its touch features work correctly.

I like that you can see the whole screen, but the plastic in the front is kind of reflective, which makes it sometimes tough depending on the lighting. No big deal, since it's an armband, and not designed to watch the screen, but to carry the device while training, keeping it out of the way.

My biggest complain is that it is not as easy as it should to take the Zune out and put it back in, plus the pocket is a little too big for the Zune, so you have to move it around a little bit before you can connect your headset. Also, I haven't been able to set it yet correctly and comfortably around my arm, always either too loose or two tight; but this might be my own issue.

A way to keep the headset cables under control would have been appreciated.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap item, in every sense of the word., June 20, 2009

This review is from: Belkin Neoprene Armband for Zune 4/8 GB (Black/Gray) (Electronics)
I bought my first Belkin armband (notice I said first) about eight months ago. I had it for maybe six weeks, when whatever low-grade metal Belkin uses to loop the arm strap broke. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary at the time ... just tightening the strap. The metal snapped, and a piece flew off and hit me about half an inch below my left eye, drawing blood. Close call.

Either because I'm an eternal optimist or a believer in second changes, I returned the defective product to Belkin, which sent me a replacement. I was running today, when I felt a snap coming from my arm. A couple seconds later, the strap came undone, and the entire setup nearly tumbled into the street. Once again, the cheap metal broke. Once again, I'm left with a useless hunk of neoprene.

Unlike last time, I will not be asking for a replacement product from Belkin. Lord knows what kind of danger I'll put myself or my MP3 player in the next time its subpar product breaks. I highly advice you NOT to purchase this item, no matter how little it costs. If you go ahead and get one anyway, bear in mind you're getting exactly what you're paying for. You're getting it for cheap, and cheap is the only way to describe this product.

Now I got this at Walmart thinking this is a good buy because I work at walmart on the overnight shift as a stocker. I thought I had it made in the shade, kept my zune out of my pocket (where the chance of being smashed is high) and still within easy reach to adjust the volume.

Boy was I wrong. I don't have huge arms, I wouldn't even put them as moderately big, but the little metal piece for the loop-back strap broke rather easily. So I would guess that if you are a jogger, then it wouldn't be so shoddy, but as soon as you start with any movement that would add stress to the bicep, i.e. bicep curls or tossing around 50 pound cases of water, then problems would arise.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously small, March 29, 2009
This review is from: Belkin Neoprene Armband for Zune 4/8 GB (Black/Gray) (Electronics)
This is nice looking and potentially functional armband. It makes me wonder why Belkin would ruin a good design by making the armband ridiculously small. I workout but wouldn't say that my arms are huge. However, I have a hard time making this armband stay on without the velcro flying open. I would recommend holding out for something better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Small!, November 24, 2009

This review is from: Belkin Neoprene Armband for Zune 4/8 GB (Black/Gray) (Electronics)
I bought this armband for my 8GB Zune mp3 player. The design of it is great and I thought it was just what I was looking for. WRONG! The armband is very small and the product is poorly made.
I am a petite person with an 11 inch bicep and while I could wear this armband; it was snug. While the 8GB Zune fits in the pocket of the band, it is a tight fit. That coupled with the small armband made the plastic pocket cover rip away at the edges.
So what I have now is a ripped armband for my Zune.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best option for working out so far, March 3, 2009
This review is from: Belkin Neoprene Armband for Zune 4/8 GB (Black/Gray) (Electronics)
I am at the gym 4 or 5 days a week. I use this armband to hold my 8gb Zune. I have had and used the armband for about 6 months now. The velcro is glued to the strap so after months of moisture and abuse, it finally started to peel away a few weeks ago. This doesn't impede the functionality of the product, however, I can see it out of the corner of my eye while I'm running. It is slightly distracting, but easy to ignore.

Of all the armbands I've looked at, this one has what I wanted. It completely houses my MP3 player and it provides touch access to the controls. I did not want the screen to get all scratched up when I used the weight machines and this Belkin Armband seems to protect it very well. There is no access to for the sync cable while the player is in the armband, though. Realistically, you should take it out so that the moisture doesn't accummulate too much.

It's probably a bit more pricey than the other options, but so far, it has worked well. And the little key pocket on the band comes in handy for locker keys and excess ear bud wire. I think this is worth the extra cost.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor construction... broke within 2 weeks, February 15, 2009
This review is from: Belkin Neoprene Armband for Zune 4/8 GB (Black/Gray) (Electronics)
This armband is very poorly made. It looks tough because it is madeof neopreme but the metal clip that the band slides through broke within 2 weeks. It is now useless. I have not been hard on it either. I am very disapointed... it was not inexpensive.
