A low profile plug
An arrangement that allows space for even bulky power adapters
Thick cord that isn't quite as pliable as it could be
Plug could be lower profile, as it is in Belkin's earlier model
Track the price. It fluctuates a lot and at one point was as low as $20.
As an example of their superb customer service, I had to return a wireless router to them, which carried a lifetime warranty, and ended up with the next model up from the one originally purchased. I trust them to do what they say they will do. If this one ever goes out, I can return it as well. Theoretically I don't ever need to buy another wireless router.
Back to the surge protector. I was able to combine two six-plug surge protectors/ power strips into this one single unit that has 12 plugs. This move erased having to plug a power strip into another power strip, which is not recommended. The outlets are spaced wide apart (BlockSpace Outlets) on the outside rows suitable for transformers, which eliminate wasted or inaccessible plugs. The middle row is for the normal sized plugs. Indeed, a lot of thought went into this design.
This unit is great for home theater set-ups or computer equipment, both very expensive and important investments in our lives. It has phone line protection that includes one input from the wall and a two-output splitter that allows you to connect a phone as well as a fax machine. Also included are input and output for cable coaxial for your television or cable modem.
Other features I like include:
--8ft. cord, which is great if your setup is away from the wall plugs.Read more ›
Belkin really paid attention to the problems you see with most surge protectors and battery backups. The middle strip offers a row of places to plug in your standard 2 and 3 prong plugs, while side plugs offer the perfect place for the "bricks". I'm especially impressed with the side plugs, as they gave plenty of space for each plug to fit.
One extra thing to mention is heat. In some surge protectors you will notice heat being given off from the power flowing through the device The Belkin 12 outlet protector remained perfectly cool to the touch.
Would I suggest buying this if you need a solid surge protector with plenty of space for all of your equipment? Absolutely.
My Belkin has been installed in an important location in my computer room which has a number of transformers that need to be plugged in. As often happens some of these transformers are rather large and seem to hog the available space. Incidentally I do have a Velodyne sub-woofer plugged into this surge protector so I guess there is a little bit of home theater use involved in my application.
I'm happy to report that the Belkin Surge Protector has plenty of room for even the large transformers and was able to accommodate everything that needed a power source in that location. For the first time in too long I actually have unused inputs for both transformers and regular plugs available.
The connections are all tight and the weight of the transformers is being very nicely supported by the Belkin. For the record the overall length of the Belkin is 14 inches.
I'm pleased with the surge protector and recommend it highly.

The only challenge was finding a grounded outlet to plug this in. Conveniently placed outlets for the tv, cable converter, Xbox and other connections.Published 4 days ago by Spenser
It's a great strip with lots of well placed outlets. I don't find any fault with it, but I don't think I would use the word "love" for something like this.Published 11 days ago by Thomas Stiyer
Unpacked it and plugged everything in only to find it did not work. I am returning this item and will post an update when I receive my new item.Published 1 month ago by Monroe
Not so much a review of the surge protector as much as a review of Amazon itself. The unit I received was obviously used, it had scratches around the receptacles. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Chubby Hubby
Perfect for my home theatre, TV, BLU-RAY, Xbox, turntable and DirectTv. I feel that it is perfect to handle all these components without fear of a surge blowing everything out!Published 2 months ago by Kim O.
