HDMI is a must for HD content -- and the Pure AV is a good choice,
By Debbie Lee Wesselmann (the Lehigh Valley, PA) - See all my reviews (TOP 50 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Belkin PureAV AV22300-12 12-Foot HDMI-to-HDMI Audio Video Cable (Electronics)
Although the wire covering of the Pure AV cable is funky -- more of a stiff nylon mesh than the more standard rubberized exterior -- it seems durable, more so than the cheaper, thinner cables I've seen. The 24K gold connectors and copper conductors are meant to reduce signal distortion, and, while I can't say whether they work better than even cheaper cables, I can't tell the difference between the Pure AV and the much more expensive Monster HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable (2 meters). I recommend going for this less expensive option unless you're a Monster cable aficionado. The ability to transmit 8-channel surround sound as well as HD video is comparable.
Especially when hooking up a larger HD television, the extra length that this particular HDMI cable provides is important. The common length of 6 feet goes nowhere unless you're connecting directly under the television itself. Depending on your set-up, your HD cable box or player may be located at the opposite side of your connections; a six foot cable will barely go from one side to another of a 52" set, let alone have room for the connection. If you're buying a Blu-Ray player or other HD content provider, you'll need an HDMI cable for best quality video and audio, provided, of course, that your set has an HDMI connection. The difference between composite video and HDMI is noticeable. You'll want to get the most out of your HD equipment, and this reasonably-priced cable is a good option.

Just as good as the expensive ones,

I'm glad I found this product. A comparable one at Wal-Mart was going for around $56.00. The cable works fine, and seems to be sturdy and well-built. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't need designer HDMI cables.

Don't pay Super Store prices,

Needed 3 longer HDMI cables; couldn't believe what the big box stores wanted! (Around $100 each.) Found these online and thought there had to be a catch. But they work perfectly. We even switched back and forth with the 'installed' cables, and couldn't detect any differences.
