This cable is absolutely superb, bought another cable for my dad's HT system., November 19, 2010
This review is from: Belkin PureAV AV50500-25 25-Foot Subwoofer Audio Cable (Electronics)
This is one of those times in cable manufacturing where there is stiff compitetion and pyschological marketing.
Riding the fence on cables?
I own both Belkin PureAV subwoofer interconnect and the
Monster M850 SW-12 M-Series 850 Subwoofer Cable (12 feet) and really can't tell the difference on the outside, except my wallet just got even lighter purchasing monster.
This is a digital cable, and the only thing it transmits is 1's and 0's and is also subject to the same intereference that effects the analog cables. If not all, most people plug this into the back of their reciever and that cable crosses a few power cables or more before the termination at the LFE. On its path to the LFE is where the majority of EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interferance)comes into play. In truth, the amout of EMI is somewhat acceptable to the majority of people but the "purist" would definitely argue to the contrary. This is the significance of why these cables are sheilded from EMI. I used a set of "might as well be unsheilded" TV RCA wires (Yellow-red-white)on an older LFE
Yamaha YST-SW215 8" Powered Subwoofer that actually made me want to buy a set of dedicated interconnects because of the signal/sound was garbage.
Both cables are sheilded with their own companies gimmick sheilding to reject EMI. The box for the Belkin interconnect was not as fancy as monster's box (this is where some of the psychological marketing comes into play.) The out side of both jackets are mesh wrapped for abrasion resistance and is very helpful while pulling the cables through the media center cabinet that the receiver is housed in.
Side note: I have seen some HT installs that the cable is bent more than 80 degrees (stapled in a corner) or a really tight bend and that is not good for these cables as the core wire is AT RISK of fracture and sound will definitely degrade at this point no matter what wires you choose, they come coiled in a pack vs folded for a reason. :)
Anyway, the Belkin cable was one-way cable from the receiver to the LFE and if hooked up in any other fashion is not as good at sending the digital signal. IIRC the Monster M-series cable is one-directional also. The interconnect clamps on both are very tight but I perfer the Belkins over the vise-like grip the monster cable has. Make sure you when hooking up the you follow the carrots on the jacketing under the mesh wrap to the LFE.
Take it FWIW. Gold is a gimmick at the connection points, in order to support this, look at the conections on the receiver or the LFE are they gold? Then what good will electroplated copper or brass do you? Google "Electrial conductivity" silver is a better medium anyway, then copper, then gold. If one was to argue the point, well the gold is there to support loss of signal between the two over the distance of xx, I'd give them that if the entire interconnect was gold or silver, but internal winding is copper, but the signal still has to interface with a digital AMP and those connection points are probably not fully electro-plated gold/silver all the way into the AMP. Which is a PCB which and is either gold or copper circuitry. Furthermore those 1's and 0's are electrical pulses on/off to put this in prospective. And I am supprised this this hasn't been mentioned in the conversations and reviews I have read, maybe it has, just haven't found it yet.
Okay, these actually did very well and I bought a set for my father who enjoys watching Disney movies, Star Wars and Harry Potter with the grand-kids, Auto racing and Football on the off time from the kids. We like it a great deal over the RCA wire that was use to connect to the LFE. To comment further on these I felt that the signal came thru in a more cleaner fashion on my LFE over the monster, less rumbling and more precise thumps if you will. But this is all relative to the listener and if you are sold on the psychology of Monster then you should just pass on this, as I have both and this one performs at or above my m-850 that exceeds THX certification (on paper).

Great Product. Great Price!, June 15, 2010
This review is from: Belkin PureAV AV50500-25 25-Foot Subwoofer Audio Cable (Electronics)
Until purchasing the Belkin PureAV subwoofer cable, my primary cables were Monster. The build quality and sound reproduction of the Belkin is on par, if not better than the Monster Subwoofer cable it replaced. Very Satisfied.
