Best available,
This review is from: Belkin PureAV Hybrid AVU1500 UPS with PureFilter Technology (Electronics)
I have been wanting one of these for 4 year now. Not sure how many Belkin produced (discontinued), but there seems to be enough to go around. Because it is a hybrid you get an UPS and the filter technology , not to mention a ton of other features. Well built to almost industrial proportions. Best you can get, and at this price, a deal. As far a replacement batteries , not to worry. They are standard SLA's available anywhere.. Great deal!

I've been wanting a power conditioner/UPS for my home theater for years. Most were prohibitively expensive. This one is the answer.
It comes with loads of cables/connectors to satisfy almost anyone's needs. You can even train it to power on another unit within your A/V collection. It has a DC control jack that I plugged into my pre-amp. The pre-amp controls my power amp and it works perfectly with the Belkin AVU1500. I didn't perform a precise before/after comparison of video quality but it seems to be better than before I installed the Belkin unit. My power amp is 1400 watts and my sub-woofer is 375 watts. I did run the volume up to near maximum on the amp once, and it blew the circuit breaker on the unit. Other than that, I've not had any issues. This unit has been around for awhile and is no longer available from Belkin--now a discontinued model. You can still find replacement batteries for it online, just not from Belkin. APC also sells a similar product for about $300, in case this item sells out.

This unit is wonderful. It is easy to set-up and works very quietly. I have had it for 6 months and have had no problems with it. There is a version sold by Monster but this one does the job just as good, if not better.

Works as advertised,

I purchased this for my home theater system. I live in a area that has frequent mini brown outs and was concerned about my gear being damaged.
Other than the lights on my main power amp dimming(bulbs, not LED's), the transition to battery power is pretty seamless. Nothing else seems to be affected. With almost 1400 watts of amps, a pre/pro, and a DLP hooked up to it, it doesn't appear to be holding anything back while listening to music or watching a movie. My only complaint is that the screen's maximum brightness could be slightly brighter. The cheaper PF60's display is much brighter and easier to read from a distance. Otherwise, I'm glad to have it a part of my rig.

Broken From The Get Go!,

I was very excited when I found this unit (Belkin PureAV Hybrid AVU1500) on Amazon.com. It was just what I was looking for to supply power to my home theater system, and at a great price. I received the unit today (01/06/2010) but was quickly dissappointed. It didn't work, brand new and broken right out of the box. I can see that getting through to Belkin is going to be next to impossible so I will probably return the unit to Amazon for a refund. You pay your money and take your chances - this turned out to be a bad deal. I can't rate this product lower than one star or I would.
UPDATE: Amazon.com immediately sent me another AVU1500 when I contacted them. The only problem is that they only reimbursed me $50.00 of the $89.00 it cost to return the defective one. So I had to pay $39.00. UPDATE: The second unit works fine. BEWARE: Read my e-mail from Belkin Tech Support: Dear Mark, Thank you for contacting Belkin Technical Support!
