Belkin Silicone Sleeve Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black,Infrared)

I can't share all those negative comments in the other reviews.
First, I'm using mine for more than SIX months now - and NOT A TRACE of some part ripping off.

I had my doubts about the thin stripe down at the connector too - but no problems yet.
Might be because I'm handling my stuff a bit more carefully than others.

Of course there's other, more solid rubber sleeves - but try to put your phone into or out of those!
They are so hard that they either put constant pressure on the volume keys, and/or you can't operate them at all!


Next, I'm carrying my iPhone in a "Golla music bag".
Even WITH the Belkin sleeve on the iPhone still fits in, but I have to slide it in carefully, and for removing I need to squeeze the bottom of the bag a bit so the iPhone slips up a bit and I can grab it.

But THAT's EXACTLY how I want it to be - it shouldn't easily fall out, a pickpocket should have some difficulty in retracting it. As far as I can see, he would have NO CHANCE to pick it without me noticing it and cutting his hand off.


And last:
Put the iPhone on a smooth table surface, or like in a bar, and gently flip you finger against it - BANG, slid off the table and dropped onto the floor. Congratulations!

But that does NOT happen with the Belkin sleeve on!! You really have to KICK it to drop it on a table.
Also, when handling it, I managed to accidentally drop my iPhone a couple of times - luckly it didn't fall onto a hard surface.
But that happened no more after I put the Belkin sleeve on. Only once somebody bumped into me, and I managed to catch the phone before it dropped - only because the sleeve has such a good grip.


So, if you like to drop your phone at least once a week, love to support pickpockets, and have the means of buying a new iPhone every month, then the Belkin sleeve is definitely not for you!

For any others: RECOMMENDED!

all in all, it's good except the bottom part next to the connectors. it's so soft and thin and looks like it's gonna be torn when put in a pant pocket or bag.

It was very good quality and fit like a glove. I would definintely order from this vendor again.

A few things that I've noticed.

Cons:
- The material elasticity will deteriorate very quickly. Out of the box it used to fit snugly, but now comes off very easily.
- The black color wears away and leaves a red base...

Pros:
- The case is easy to remove and wash.
- The rubbery texture keeps the iphone from slipping off flat surfaces.

The sleeves for iPhones are ludicrously expensive in brick & mortar stores, and there really isn't a lot to choose from in terms of looks. Searching through hundreds online, I finally found one I liked that looked fairly unique, and it's held up very well over the months. The volume buttons are covered, but there's a ridge for each in the exterior rubber of the case, so it works well enough. Other than that, perfect!

This is the second iPhone cover that I've bought. The first (not this one) faded in a color a bit but was still going strong after two years. I purchased this one when I upgraded my iPhone to the latest model. After only a couple of months the rubber between the ports holes on the bottom ripped. Now (about 6 months in) it has become so loose that it keeps falling off of the phone. It looks nice but if you want something that will last, don't buy this one.

I have had this for about 5 months and it is not good. I am replacing it due to the stretching and expansion it seems to undergo. It is now so loose that the skin is likely to cause me to drop the phone. I have kept it in a holster and not been hard on it. I can't recommend this skin.

it looks okay and works okay, but the mail problem is the case is really easy to pull off the corners of the iphone. You can pull the iphone out of your pocket and leave the case in your pocket. Quite annoying. I ended up getting a hard case.

My son bought a similar case for his iPod Touch. I wanted a nice soft case to prevent the iPhone from slipping out of my hand or off uneven surfaces - this works great!

I've had a black Belkin silicone sleeve for 4 months. In that short time, the sleeve has stretched to the point where it comes off when I try to put the phone in my pocket (it grips more to the fabric than the iPhone - clearly not ideal). Also, the black color has worn off at all 4 corners and where it covers the iPhone buttons. I'll be buying a different cover soon and am looking at Agent18's Eco Shield ([...]).
