4.0 out of 5 stars Good armband for the price...
I purchased this armband so I could use my new nano to take while I run or workout. The "sports" material is what I needed, so this caught my eye. I like the fact that it is machine-washable (which I haven't done yet). My nano fits very snuggly in the cover, and the capsule for the earphones is pretty nifty to wrap up all that excess wire dangling.

Good...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tough closure
All the features are good with the exception of the hook that secures the closure on the band. It is difficult to manipulate the hook into the right slot with one hand. Velcro would have been an easier way to close the band around my arm.

Good things:
-Light weight compared to my old bulky neoprene one.
-earphone holder is removable
-Once you find the hook that works, there is no problem with it staying in place. Might be due to the wicking material not making it slippery?

There are a few downsides to it, and it may not affect you as much:
-After long workouts (an hour or longer), it seems that some moisture has somehow leaked into the ipod part - which defeats the purpose of the protective cover- and it is hard to slide the ipod back out. It isn't a whole lot, and it doesn't seem to happen on an average shorter workout. I might try putting something underneath the band, between my skin and the holder to see if it prevents the problem.
-The adjustable band that I was used to from previous armbands was velcro, which made it easy and quick to put on and take off. This one has a hook and slots to slide it in. It is adjustable, and will probably fit larger arms as well. It just takes an extra minute to get it to hook into a good one that will ensure it won't slide down during activity. Kinda awkward if you are used to the velcro closure.
-You can't charge your ipod while it is in the holder. It may just be because this new generation has the charger right next to the headphone jack, and you would have to have the whole bottom of the slot open to accommodate this feature. This is just a minor inconvenience.

Overall a good deal for about $20.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too cumbersome, June 1, 2008

This is a fine armband for the iPod nano, except for the method of securing it on one's arm. You have to insert a hook into one of numerous slots(depending on the size of your arm). I found this process extremely cumbersome--you almost need three hands. Moreover, once you find which slot fits your arm, you will have to mark it somehow so that you won't have to go thru trial and error each time. I understand that this is a personal perference, but I would much prefer velcro--and have purchased an armband that uses velcro. Anyone want to purchase my Belkin armband?

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, April 24, 2008

This is a nice armband, but i wish it was velcro, very hard to reach around your arm to put the hook on, other than that it's okay, it does protect the Nano very well.

The band secures well on the arm (provided you're dextrous enough to link the hook thru the fasteners) for a comfortable fit. The case for the ipod, however, is a total piece of junk. It began coming apart at the seams within weeks of its first use. It is now almost totally open at the bottom and is also coming apart at the top. I can only recommend this for casual users. If you intend to work out using this product, expect to be looking for another armband a couple of months later.

1.0 out of 5 stars Plastic is too thick, armband is clunky, June 7, 2008
This review is from: Belkin Sport Armband Plus Case for iPod nano 3G (Blue) (Electronics)
It looked good in the wondow, but I barely use it at all. The clear plastic allows viewing but makes navigating on the iPod very difficult. The arm band uses a metal clip and loop system to fasten that is clunky and I wonder why not just use velcro. You cannot plug the iPod in to recharge if it is on the armband, which is ok, since you have to take it out of the armband whenever you want to change volume settings ... bleh .... I wish I had looked harder before buying.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mild enjoyment short lived, December 26, 2009

i had been searching for a running band for quite some time and this one looked the most promising (not to mention the nice low price tags available) however i was disappointed to say the least. The arm band was wickedly difficult to fit around my arm (i'm a girl but I have fairly wide arms from working out and the band constantly snapped back as i attempted to slip the small metal hook into the slots- reminded me of a 3sizes too small swimsuit or something) and after less than a week of use the supposed metal clamp snapped, rendering the armband utterly useless. The holder for headphones was a nice idea, and I enjoyed how the cord didnt bob around as much, but the earbuds were constantly yanked out (more so then without the armband) and the case its self wedged off of the band a few times on me. I'd say a decent product if you have moderate to smaller width arms, maybe the clasp wouldnt get as much strain and snap.

I was very excited to get this arm band because it was a replacement for my old holder (which i destroyed in the washing machine). This one had everything I was looking for: machine washable, workout material, and the enclosure for the headphone wire. This all did not matter in the end because the band is not elastic. Maybe if I were to never move my arm this wouldn't matter, but being that this was for exercising, I can not flex my arm muscles while wearing this band!

The only good thing about this is that the gizmo that holds the earphone wire is removable, so I can use it when I buy a new armband that is elastic!

Used 20 or so times and falling apart already. All seams coming undone. Latching loops undone where I need them, so have to either make uncomfortably tight or too loose. Would not recommend to friends or even enemies.
