4.0 out of 5 stars None better for the price
This is my second Belkin. I even had a small AC plugged in.
The only thing I experienced is that the cable or phone gets fuzzy if you pass it through this surge protector. But for electricity, it works great. Great price also.
I haven't used the wall mount because I don't want to drill holes. Sometimes you have to yank a plug out, and I just don't want to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a wall-mount surge protector
I bought this because the title of the product on Amazon indicated it has a "wall-mount" option. But it does not. This does not mount on the wall and has no hardware to do this. It is an ordinary surge protector.

I've had this product for a while now, and I have to say I am very pleased with it. It works as expected and is a really good idea to have around the house.

Specifically, there are just two things I disliked about this (keep in mind, I still gave this 5 stars). First off, it is a little bit bulky. It has a thick power cord and the strip itself is a little big for my taste. But for 7 outlets, it's really not that bad.

Secondly, I really like the one outlet that is spaced off from the rest. This lets you put in a plug of bigger size or different orientation (I use this with my laptop power adapter). It would have been nicer if they other ones had been a little bit more spaced out also.

Don't let those two points get you down though. This is a top-notch product from Belkin.

I love Belkin and their surge protectors are top quality. I specifically look for their brand and I am always very impressed. This model has been especially good to me over the last 3 years and I would highly recommend it.

It's just a surge protector, but this is nicer looking than other ones I've had over the years, and the cord is long enough to actually move it to where it needs to go. I recommend buying it.

This model power strip burned from an underground wire being cut, but saved the items plugged into it from being burned. Good model to consider for its value.

1.0 out of 5 stars Belkin Strip Outlet Caught Fire at switch - Be Safe and Aware, October 27, 2009

This review is from: Belkin SurgeMaster F9H710-06 7-Outlet Wall-Mount Surge Protector (Tools & Home Improvement)
I left my Computer, Printer, Monitor and Speaker on for 2 hours during an errand. When I returned, nothing was working.
I unplugged the computer from the strip outlet and plugged it into the wall, it still worked. I repeated this with all the other items and they all worked. I examined the strip outlet more closely and noticed slight black marks around the last outlet, even though nothing was plugged into that specific one. I smelled it and it had a burned aroma. When my husband arrived home, he opened it up to find there had been an internal burning/fire of the on/off switch wiring right next to the last plug. Thank God this did not continue to burn through the plastic otherwise there would have been an external fire in my office! This is not an old outlet either.......It was made in China.
I have reported this to the Consumer Protection Agency and will also report it to Belkin tomorrow. I have photos as well.
I'm glad my Equipment didn't fry, but I was not pleased about the potential of a major fire.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad overall, do not buy this., November 18, 2010
This review is from: Belkin SurgeMaster F9H710-06 7-Outlet Wall-Mount Surge Protector (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had this for around 2 years, i thought it was working. I had thought it was doing its job.

The wiring in my house is old, and the previous owner left surge protector outlet plugs on every outlet in the house.

I plugged in this surge protector to the outlet, until 1 week ago when I removed the previous owner's surge protector outlet plug. So this surge protector was the only thing protecting my computer.

Well , what do you know , because 1 week later my computer was dead. The motherboard was fried. After turning off the power to my house for work to be done, then turning it back on, my computer which cost over a thousand was completely dead.

I do not recommend this product, I do not suggest anyone to buy it. It is a terrible piece of flimsy hardware, and if you look on the internet, you'll find reports of this appliance catching on fire, and stuff like that.

I went to walmart , bought 2 surge protectors and am about to ship this one back. I doubt i'll get compensation.
