High-Speed Convenience with Four USB 2.0 Ports
The Belkin USB 2.0 Plus 4-Port Hub features four USB 2.0 downstream ports for fast, efficient data transfers. In addition, it's backward compatible with USB 1.1 devices, which means you can keep older-generation peripherals up and running while maximizing the high-speed performance of new devices.

Cord Management for Reduced Clutter
Compact and elegant, the Plus Hub offers a unique configuration with two of its downstream ports situated on the top of the case, providing extremely easy access when you're using thumb drives, USB lights, media readers, and other portable peripherals. The remaining two ports are located on the side, and are positioned for optimal use with the Plus Hub's integrated cable-management feature. This unique design also includes an internal weight and stay-put pads to keep it upright and anchored securely on your desk.

Cord-Free Power with Over-Current Protection
The Plus Hub requires no external power supply for use with most devices, which means an even further reduction of cord tangles and desk clutter. In addition, convenient LEDs make monitoring its power status easy.

And the smart design also works to prevent damage to your expensive computer and USB devices by providing over-current protection.

Plug-and-Play Installation
A plug-and-play setup gets the four-port Plus Hub up and running quickly and easily. Simply connect it to your computer using a USB cable (sold separately), follow the on-screen directions, and start connecting devices.

System Requirements and Warranty Information
The Plus Hub works with a broad range of systems. For PC users, it supports use with Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP, or Vista. For Mac Users, it supports OS 9 to OS 10.

The Belkin USB 2.0 Plus 4-Port Hub is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Also, it is very small and has enough weight to sit squarely on my desk.
Robert Chadwick
The AC power option is very useful; you can use the hub without AC power but some external drives may require the AC power to be connected.
Guanaqueando
This device also allows you to plug in USB devices easily without having to do such in the USB ports found on the back of your CPU.

This may be a bit over the usual price for a $5-$10 USB hub you can find here at Amazon or your local Fry's, but the quality and just great look of the product compensate for any problems. It works flawlessly, even with those pesky external drives that require a 2-1 USB cable to have adequate power. Add to that the extra handy ports on top for thumb drives.

It looks great next to my iPod dock and iMac, remember it's not just Apple that makes cool looking products.

I had to turn my iMac to unplug a USB cable and plug in another. I also have a portable hard drive, though, that is powered by the USB and would not work with an extension USB cord (the light on the drive would go on, but I guess it wouldn't get enough juice to be usable). The Belkin hub, with the AC cord connected solved all the problems. I have more then enough USB ports and the portable hard drive gets power from the Belkin's AC (for lower-power items, you may not need to use the AC cord). And it looks great.
A little surprise: each of the four ports has an indicator light that goes on when the port is in use. I'm not sure why this is helpful, but its nice to see anyway.

Simple, beautiful, functional, and as others have said, it performs flawlessly! The weight is a big advantage and the small size is perfect. Needless to say, the old hubs are history.

I received this hub yesterday; and although I haven't had a long time to use it, I believe it will be the perfect USB hub for me. I currently have my keyboard & iPhone 3G dock plugged into the connections on the back. I prefer to leave my printer hooked up to it's own USB hub on my iMac. This leaves an open USB port on my iMac for one of my backup drives that I use (in addition to the two I have attached to the firewire ports.) This arrangement seems to work flawlessly. I am very pleased with this hub for a couple of reasons. The two top USB connections are very handy for connecting temporary items, such as my digital camera card reader, headphones, etc. Also, it is very small and has enough weight to sit squarely on my desk. One thing I should mention that I don't believe is very clear from the description of this item. THIS IS A POWERED USB HUB. It doesn't have to be, so you can use it with a notebook without power. However, I do have the power adapter plugged in. I figure "why not" since I'm using it with an iMac. VERY PLEASED so far; and I doubt that a Belkin product will prove to be faulty at a later date.

It does what it's supposed to do. Works great and looks great. I paid for the Belkin name and the fit and finish quality.

It's pretty hard to get excited over a USB hub, but this one is a rarity. The design is beautiful and the weighted base keeps it in place. The only regret I have is that I didn't buy the 7 port hub instead.

Tried many hubs, liked this one the most. I probably should have gotten the 7 port model, but this is great.

PROS
Self-powered -- works very well without external power, but you have that option for power hungry devices
White, decent design
Heavy enough to stay put most of the time
Uses miniUSB cable, easy to get the length you want

CONS
I would prefer 3 ports in the back and one on top.
Don't see much use for the cable thing on the side.

I have been trying to use this with Windows 7 64 bit. Plugging a USB flash drive into does not scan fast, it takes several minutes or fails. Also have to unplug power plug then plug back in to recognize a connected device. Noel at their support chat just verified it is not compatible with Windows 7. I should have checked before I bought it, my fault. But I told Noel from Belkin support I would buy another brand, and all I got was have a great day. How about telling me which hub would work or a bit of empathy. Anyway, if someone has gotten it to work or can recommend a better powered hub, please comment.

Update:
I ended up returning the Belkin. I got this hub: Tripp Lite U222-007-R USB2.0 Hub - 7Port
Seems to work fine with my Windows 7. I tested the Belkin with a MAC and Windows Vista PC prior to return, it did not recognize a USB flash drive pugged into either one. Thanks to Amazon's hassle free return it's out of my life.
