Product Description

The thin and lightweight Belkin Ultimate Keyboard Case for iPad reinvents the tablet as an enhanced productivity tool. The keyboard's large well-spaced keys provide laptop-like typing, while its thin 6.4-millimeter profile makes desk or lap use very comfortable. Three neodymium magnets keep the iPad securely in place and automatically turn the keyboard on and off, so that the keyboard is only on when you're using it. When you're not using the keyboard, the battery is saved and the onscreen keyboard automatically reappears. With its 160-hour battery life and wireless Bluetooth connection, the Ultimate Keyboard Case travels well, giving you the utility of a laptop without sacrificing mobility.

I've used several different keyboard cases for my iPad3. Some of have been OK but none have had the overall excellence that I find in this Belkin keyboard case.

The keyboard is encased in a beautiful aluminum shell. It's lightweight but substantial. It does not flex. The tray where the iPad fits into is also light in weight and has an interesting design utilizing a rubberized fabric, for lack of a better way to describe it, that when the iPad is in the opened position leaves a portion of the tray open. Hard to describe buy my video shows this.

The iPad tray has a brilliantly designed speaker port that redirects the iPad sound towards you. This makes a huge difference that I appreciate. All the other cutouts for the iPad are perfectly aligned.

The keyboard has some intelligence built-in. This has resulted in the removal of any on/off switch to the keyboard. Yay! No more forgetting to turn the keyboard off and ending up with a dead battery. This keyboard knows when to turn itself on or off and has great battery life. It's easlly charged with the included USB to Micro USB cable.

The cover is also a smart cover so your iPad goes to sleep when it's closed and wakes up when it's opened.

A strong magnet holds the iPad in one of three available positions. My biggest problem in the past with these types of covers is that when the iPad is used on my lap or when i bed, the iPad is never held strongly enough. But the magnet in this one is quite strong and does a much better job of holding the iPad in position. The only downside is that there is no provision for having your iPad in Poertrait orientation when in this case.

I'm very pleased with this keyboard case.

I wanted to love this wireless keyboard. I've had a number of Belkin products in the past and found them to be functional, as advertised and with a good shelf life. This item? Not so much

If you do a lot of typing on a regular basis, this will work IF you're comfortable with the keyboard (I have smallish hands and I found it to be a bit tight in terms of space for my hands to be comfortable.) Felt squished and though I am a good, fast, accurate typist, found this keyboard a bit "tight" and restrictive. I made a lot of typos. I also didn't like the "feel" of the keys.

It was easy to put together and charge. However, this case seems really really breakable. When I used it, I had something else behind it to hold up my iPad2 should it fall out of position. I would never use this as a case for my iPad. Just too flimsy.

I actually find it easier to type onscreen when my iPad is propped up by the very sturdy case I already own. But then I'm not using the iPad as my primary work unit. The iPad is more for entertainment and I don't really type all that much except to fill in forms or sign-in stuff.

The bluetooth worked effortlessly. Others have addressed the issue of the unit giving out in a few months. I can't speak to this as I havne't used it that long.

Over the years I’ve used and tested many tablet case/keyboard combos. These are useful accessory/devices that serve the dual purpose of protecting your tablet and providing you with a physical keyboard with which to type. Case/keyboard combos are naturally constrained by the limitations and the features of the tablets for which they were designed. Thus, they should not be judged and evaluated against some perfect devices that could only exist if they violated some fundamental laws of Physics. Having said that, and having had experience with many such devices, it is my opinion that Belkin Qode is the ultimate keyboard case.

The first things you notice about Belkin Qode are its beautiful design and build. Belkin has come to symbolize the quality of accessory devices, and one encounter with Belkin Qode will show you why. The keyboard is built out of smooth, light airplane grade aluminum. It is very smooth and it feels great under the touch. The back cover is made out of high quality plastic. The cover feels sturdy and very protective, and it’s very easy to place iPad into it. The cover has the cutouts for all of iPad’s connectivity slots and speakers, but some of them (the microphone one in particular) are not all that well aligned. Nonetheless they get the job done.

The keyboard itself is a typical reduced tablet keyboard, with many of the standard keys relegated to the secondary function places. The keyboard is, naturally, more cramped than the standard keyboard, but not to the point that it becomes impossibly hard to use. The key action is very smooth and responsive to touch. However, it is not quite as good as what I am used to from Apple’s keyboards. It was extremely easy to pair up the keyboard with my iPad.

I got this product for my wife and she loves it. She mostly uses here iPad for email and Words with Friends. I really liked how it fits the iPad like a glove and the keyboard is much better than using the onboard screen.
