Combining massive ventilation, svelte weight, and high-tech comfort features, the Bell Volt Bike Helmet has 11 frontal vents direct the flow of air via the helmet's custom-sculpted Composite Fiber Intakes (CFI) and internal StreamJet Ventilation channels. Designed to be used on- or off-road, the Volt's removable Variable Position Visor (VPV) is well suited to the rigors of road racing as well as cross country (XC) competitions.

Rearward exhaust ports and the moisture-wicking X-Static padding work in tandem to help keep the rider cool and dry. The Volt is made even more comfortable by Bell's new Twin Axis Gear (TAG) fit system--an evolution of the highly acclaimed GPS fit system--which allows riders to both dial in the exact fit as well as adjust the mechanism's horizontal position on the back of the head.

Channeled Ventilation
Specially designed ventilation channels on the interior of the helmet's liner bring cool air in through the front, pass it over the head and flushes warm air out of the rear ports. The Volt features deeply sculpted channels that keep air moving whether you're bombing it at 30 mph, or huffing it uphill at single digit speed.

Internal Reinforcement
In order to maximize venting and minimize bulk, high-end helmets like the Volt now feature internal reinforcements. These composite skeletons fortify helmets the same way rebar makes concrete stronger. This allows for bigger vents, more advanced styling and lighter weight, while still meeting stringent safety standards.

Excellent Helmet!!!! Great Ventilation!!! Light!!! Superb Fit!!! I have tried numerous helmets and this is the best so far - comparable to Giro's top helmets. It is also cheaper. Best of all is that it has a removable visor which allows the helmet to switch between off-road and on-road use. IT IS A GREAT HELMET FOR THE PRICE ON AMAZON.COM (and free shipping!)

The main thing I wanted to know about these helmets was how thick are the pads. Well they are pretty thick and I DO NOT like thin pads.

There are great helmets, there are so-so helmets, and there are total crap helmets. This one is in the great-awesome category! I mostly do road cycling, with a bit of mtn. biking when I can get a break from the city. I'll keep it simple: It's light, tons of vents, fits my head well (although the front pad feels to be a little snug)and the design is super sweet! I got this from Amazon almost 40% off, so it a was awesome deal. Just get one, you'll be super cool (literally)
