What a piece of crap, waste of money and time.

Meaning, it doesn't just go off when you open the door, you can set it and then leave.

Great when it works, but frustrating to get it to work if you ever can.

Though its true this alarm is loud, I like having it. Its worked fine for my family for years. True, you can't stand too close when it sounds off. When going out the door, try putting your hand over the noise area to mute it a little. They probably made it this loud to accommodate the size of ones home. This way a person can hear it if they are in an area that's far from the alarm. It's also great to have when you have kids home. You can hear them if they are leaving or coming home. No sneeking in or out without the parents hearing them.

it works, sort of. this is the only alarm under $100 that i could find that works like this. Meaning, it doesn't just go off when you open the door, you can set it and then leave. The thing is, it's kinda goofy and just to leave you need to input the code 3 times when you leave. The first time to deactivate it when you open the door. then you put it in again and you think it would turn it back on, but that just turns the whole thing off, so then you input it a third time, and then you can shut the door and leave. But every once in a while, just putting it in twice is enough. It's very weird. Anyway, if someone breaks open the door, it's gonna beep like crazy, and that's all i care about.

I have used alarms like this to let me know if doors are opened. I have a small Elerly care business. They work well and are easy to use even for my staff. Highly recommend!

Just received the unit. It came with no instruction sheet so leaning to use it has been problematic. A search online reveals that this is a common problem. I did find a response that helped figure how to set the passcode, and by experimentation, figure out how to set it. The default passcode is 0000. To reset, enter 0000 then press code; then enter your new passcode and press code again. Removing the batteries will reset the default passcode. To set the alarm, enter the passcode, press on, then close the magnetic circuit within ten seconds; it is now set. When you open the circuit you have ten seconds (hear beeps) to enter the passcode and press off. The unit is still active and if you close the circuit, it is reset. To disable the unit, while the ciruit is open, enter the passcode, press off, and do not close the circuit until the unit times out (light stops blinking.) It should now be off.

I purchased this as an alarm for my front door. The "chime" is as loud as the alarm, so anytime you open the door, the entry chime blasts in your ear and wakes the neighbors. It's an annoying product you should AVOID!

This is hard to review as the alarm is loud enough to wake the dead, not too sure it hasn't here. However, my star rating comes down on functional frustrations. It worked fine for awhile (about 2 months) and now I can't get the delay part of it to work so I can leave with it still in tack. It is supposed to work so you have two minutes to leave before it goes off. But the second you open the door the 10 second warning starts counting down. Great when it works, but frustrating to get it to work if you ever can. Not worth the money in my book.
