Its pretty simple to figure out the various settings and functions, which is good because the manual is useless.
The light is powerful as well.
Just two real gripes with it:
1) The preview screen doesn't flip the display until its completely turned around, making it less useful if your not directly in front of the camera.
2) The quality of the video it produces is... less than one would expect from a 1080p "Full HD" camera. Much better than my old one, but still not even close to the quality I was expecting. I think there might be some overzealous compression going on.

I really liked the camera when I received it. But, after interviewing my Dad (98) and his Brother (90) and holding the camera for over 30 minutes, it was hard to keep holding the camera up.
The instruction book leaves a lot to be desired.
Truthfully, I have to say that I have not looked at the disc that came with the camera, which I intend to do as soon as possible.
