Bell Handlebar Bag,
By
This review is from: Bell Road Stash Bicycle Handlebar Bag (Sports)
Great handlebar bag, much larger in person, has reflective material on front since it will cover any reflector on bike, very roomy with large compartment (i fit a sandwich, drink and bike lock in it) and a smaller front compartment perfect for a cell phone, ipod, snack, etc.... great value, though it velcros on so im afraid of it getting stolen and its a pain to take on and off because my brake cables get in the way so it has to be looped through, also gets in the way of my headlight.... other than these problems, its a great alternative to carrying a backpack and it fits quite a bit of stuff

Nice bag for the money...,

My only regret with this bag was that I purchased it at Sports Authority and paid 3 bucks more for it. Nice size, perfect for a small towel, cell phone, ipod, keys and a small water bottle. It does get in the way of the front reflector/light so I attached it facing me so that I can access it easier. Overall, good bag for the money.

Great small bike bag,
This review is from: Bell Road Stash Bicycle Handlebar Bag (Sports)
The Bell Road Stash Bicycle Handlebar Bag is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It fits my bike well without being too bulky or getting in the way. It is roomy and can hold several small items (sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.). You can take out the plastic to make it less stiff or keep it in to give it more form. The only thing I wish is that it would come in other colors.

This bag holds a lot of stuff for a handlebar bag, but not so much that it makes the bag unwieldy. It is easy to put on and remove with velcro tabs.
Inside it has two compartments and some smaller pockets for phone, keys, etc. I like it.

I purchased this bag for my nephew. He loves it! It is easy to put on the bike and to remove it. I hold a good bit of whatever he may feel he needs. (He's an 8 year old boy, so that may me small rocks, sticks, etc.) The stiffness is actually a good thing in our book, it holds its shape. The plastic insert can be removed if that bothers you.
My nephew really likes it and I am considering buying one for myself. It's so cheap!

Converts into a fanny pack!,

This bag is cheap and roomy and stays secure on the handlebars. I bought this and a Bell under-the-seat model, and this bag is much larger and more useful.
The best part of the bag is that it comes with a strap so you can turn it into a fanny pack. When I get where I'm going, I take it off the bike and strap it around my waist. No worries about having the bag stolen while I'm running errands or whatever. The bag does get in the way of my front reflector, but I just tilt the reflector up and out of the way before attaching the bag to the handlebars. The strips on the front of the bag are reflective, so this is not a major drawback. I haven't had the bag long enough to comment on the durability, but at less than $10 I'm not too worried. I'm very pleased, overall.

I've used these for 10 years.,

I've used these Bell handlebar bags for 10 years and they haven't failed me, maybe they've become a bit bleached and discolored by the elements, sun and all kinds of weather including zero degree snowy weather and 30 mile jaunts in the Midwest but my original bag has held up.
Now, this handlebar bag has been slightly redesigned but the difference is negligible and I've gotten new ones, because they are handy, for the gym because these new bags seem to have an attachable strap one can use, I'm not sure if the ones made 10 years ago had this, the bags are roomy enough for shorts, shirt and swimsuit or to keep bicycle tools/tires in at home. In the decade I've used these bags, some of my bikes have not survived but the Bell handlebar bag has. Bell products are outstanding whereas some companies charge and arm and a leg for products like these. The only thing I would be cautious about is that in some bike setups, the sturdy plastic backing of the handelbar bag could scrape and scratch against the headtube area/headbadge in the way some bicycles are set up so this is something to watch to those of you who might be real particular about this. On most bikes, road bikes that is, the brake cables and housing/setup will protect the headtube/headbadge but concerning cruisers, English 3-speeds, moutain bikes, hybrids, comfort bikes of which these kinds of accessories are handy, the brake cables and housing/setup may not act as an adequate buffer.

Zipper is not durable - broke on first use,

I bought this handlebar bag as well as the Bell StowAway bicycle seat bag. The zippers on both products are metal and extremely flimsy. While using the handlebar bag for the first time, the zipper broke. To be more specific, the top part of the pull tab broke off.
I contacted Bell (which was a chore in itself) and after several emails I was given a replacement bag. Not the same exact bag, but a smaller one with a better zipper. Which was fine with me because an exact replacement wouldn't have lasted long anyway. I'm very careful with my StowAway bag as it's still in working condition after using it for 4 weeks. The reflective strips and its size are the only reasons why this bag has two stars.

Bell Handlebar Bag,
By Eric Bohn (Largo, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bell Road Stash Bicycle Handlebar Bag (Sports)
I bought this bag (from k-mart) primarily because it was small enough to mount on my handlebar and not obscure my handlebar mounted headlight, but large enough to carry my relatively small u-lock and also my cable lock. I've had mine for about 8 months now and it's falling apart. I've always had problems with the zippers, they had a tendency to split open when I had both locks in the bag. Not an over-sized load, but u-locks are kind of heavy. So I just left the zipper zipped up to the middle of the bag. Just recently, the zippers have begun to detach from the bag at the seems. At $15, not including shipping, there are plenty of other bags available on Amazon, surely one of them offers better construction quality than this one.
